I don't understand why it's free??? Not being funny but Reiza are shooting themselves in the foot. I honestly think it would be a better idea to use this as a "tester" to see how sales would go on steam.

Probably for the same reason Simbin's Volvo game and Blimey's (now SMS) BMW M3 game were free. Racing games can be a marketing tool for a car, make or racing series. A manufacturer or racing series can pay a developer to produce a game for them. If a title is intended as a marketing tool, its obviously better for it to be free as it will reach a larger audience.

This is my speculation. I do not have any inside info.

With this being a freebie, this could be the best thing to happen to GSCE. Now I can just tell people that everything is as good as this is likely to be, so buy it! lol

The news article is wrong. This is not part of GSCE but will be a separate free game.

Rather surprised the news story hasn't been amended in line with Reiza's request. The assumption it would be part of a GSCE update was quite a big one and wrong as it turns out.

The request that was a comment on this thread ? Possibly Rob hasn't read it yet. I'm surprised that a request like that wasn't emailed to Rob via the 'Report News' function so he would get the message personally rather than relying on him seeing it randomly placed in this thread.

I will say...buy it now. you won't regret it. And if it finally arrives to Steam, is easy to suppose that every previous owner could redeem it with GSC's serial number.

Same again here, multiple friends hoping for Steam release to buy this game!!
I can't figure out why its not on steam tbh? I mean if anybody deserves the exposure for their quality work for the sim community its Reiza. I know the online part of this game would get a much needed boost too.
Who knows looking forward if they did make on Steam with increased exposure/sales could they maybe complete the Ayrton Senna game they've for so long talked about?

Agreed. Although to be fair, their sync updater is the best outside of Steam I've came across, and is a doddle to use.

I guess you pay some % to steam, whereas they way they distribute they might be getting all the $$$ to them , ... but sure, much bigger exposure

for normal retailers ( games you see in shops ) it's more liek 60-70% ;)

True I'd buy it, if it was on steam also, even though none of the Brazilian content in it interest me, only just to support the developer, has I know 99.9% of the content has been ripped and ported to other sims that use the same engine.

MelUK, You can have great fun using the Chevrolet or Peugeot V8s around the Aussie tracks or others used in V8 racing. I think the open wheel racing is first class. Much prefer their Formula Extreme cars to Codies 2014 effort.

Dare i ask... and maybe Patrick my have some insight. but are we seeing less Race type cars in AC because of how much more work modders have to do with physics to get things right? That EVO X is beautiful, but not sure we would see cars like this in AC any time soon?! what are your thoughts?

I wouldn't say it's the physics, I think it's the model + textures,

these cars ( ext + interior) are 120k triangles, whereas in the days of Race07 it was 20k triangles, ... this means way more detailes to be done, and that takes lot of time,

then you have to (if you want to make it AC standart) deal with damage texture, dirt texture, etc.
also the shaders are more complex and you can create your own , .. so yeah, it's way more work , that's the main reason for it

for example, when I was doing Toyota Corolla for Simbin, it took me a week to finish the model + UV mapping ( not the texture stuff) ... Primera for AC - which isn't finished yet - have easily eaten 2 months worth of time ( spanned across almost a year now)

so I think that's really the reason why we don't see as many cars,

and also that AC guys seems to be more concerned about illegal convertions/ripped mods and are shutting them down, not supporting them

Only in a game Petrobras is doing fine. Real life, it's grim right now.

I hope gsc will get a dk 2 support soon. Should run very smooth because of more fps.

So the Senna Game is dead in the water? Couldn't get it through the Senna Foundation?

We could never had announced it if it hadn´t been licensed by the Senna Institute :) Problem is, that was the very 1st thing we did with that project. There is a lot of money to raise, extra licenses to get and technology to develop before it can be finished, which is why it hasn´t been and won´t be for a while still.

Unfortunate that you have the exclusive Senna PC license now but are years away from the Senna Game :(

Someone mentioned crowd funding somewhere. Keep at it I am always for preserving the memory of one so great.

Thank you for the kind words Antonio, however Copa Petrobras is not something you will have to spend money on. It´s a freebie, just not GSC-related.

We appreciate the good will though, hopefully it won´t be long before you have the means to contribute :) In the meantime you can always buy another copy of GSC / FTruck and give it to a friend ;)

At first everyone thought it was going to be a Add year Prayaya International Game Stock Cars of Reiza Studios. But during this week at the auto show came a pleasant surprise. The same will be a new game (having the same base extrutural from GSC Extreme) but will be distributed free of charge. Until the closing of the game still has no download link, what will happen in the next few days. It certainly opens up the possibility for 2015, the conflicting sponsors was a big reason it couldnt even be considered for this year.
