Heh, yes I agree with Fry.
It's just.. 'brought', when one means 'bought' reminds me of various knuckle-dragging chumps I have met.

And "Legos". It's just Lego - that's like saying "sheeps". Fry may believe correctly that language is organic, evolving and consists of which ever words the speaker or writer prefers, but that's not a precise science when one refers to a brand name.

Remember the Wordyrappinghood song from Tom Tom Club? The refrain was "People who can't say what they mean don't mean what they say".

Yeah, but many people say 'Band aids' too (although most don't include a spurious apostrophe').
Points being:
If you're in the publishing business, you better get your words right (and learn the difference between 'throws' and 'throes', for example).
- also, mainly, it detracts from enjoying an otherwise interesting article.

I've a theory that when children and we are learning the tricky english language, it's natural to call the Lego bricks, etc. a plural. eg "I spent the afternoon playing with my Legos" (Legoes?) Carrying this over into adulthood is not really excusable... at least not if one aspires to publish one's writing. This is an excellent article with beautiful bikes and craftsmanship, such a shame to let it down.

Looking at his bikes, it's clear Max approaches things very differently from most builders and it's cool to get a peek on that process. His bikes will definitely stand the test of time.

I have nothing but admiration for Max's work. It's the antidote to this "wabi sabi" meme that's been floating around the fish bowl lately.

Re: DRz, I had one, blew it up, rebuilt it bigger better stronger faster. It takes some dedicated tinkering to get the motor to run flawlessly, but it's quite rewarding when it does.

Max, if/when you get bored with the DRz, I suggest looking at the KTM 690, and if you have a very high tolerance for excitement, an Aprilia SXV550.

I'd actually love to see you work with that Aprilia motor! It's mental.

I am quite shocked that not a single reader has brought up the fact that the majority of the inspiration for all Max's bikes have come from Ian Barry's previously built Falcon Motorcycles. The Ironhead with two front cylinder heads (to replicate the look of a Vincent), the curves of the two exhausts, inverted levers, Brooks accessories, sole use of girder front ends and the list goes on.

Not to diminish his incredible fabrication skills and the commitment to make it as a bike builder. But it won't be too long before he drops out as a builder to focus on his art career, just like Barry.

Love the builds.... but is this frame going to hold up? tubes look kinda small?
