3 Italian cities on this list. Impressive.

Roger Wee • 9 years ago

You did missed Shanghai. High end apartments that are selling at USD$50 Million and good decent apartment are more than USD$2.5 Million.

Melanie • 9 years ago

Can you provide some examples?

The funny thing is that Shanghai is not even in the top 8 according to millionaire density. Which, of course, this is what this article is reporting on. Shanghai has 166,400 millionaires (and only 1,028 multi-millionaires), out of 23 million people. That's not even close to being a high density. If you do that math that's about 0.72%.

Houston? Impressive since it's the antithesis of population density.

Cindy • 9 years ago

I think if they changed it to billionaires Washington, D.C. would be on top.

Ryan Serhant • 9 years ago

"Switzerland's Zurich and Geneva ranked second and third, proving that
millionaires love a good tax break more than cultural diversity" the author has obviously never been to these places. They both super culturally diverse! just think the UN and hundreds of international NGO are in Geneva! Hello...
Oh and by the way, a millionaire is Switzerland is common and meaningless...think that a 25sqm flat in Geneva is around 1M. A million is not what it used to be..

aamericannovice • 9 years ago

Are you counting the millionaires from the drug cartel?

Melanie • 9 years ago

lol. Those have plenty of cash and not stocks. lol That was very smart thinking on your part

MAGNUSONE • 9 years ago

He is. But he can't count Obama who funds the Mexicans for smuggling children over the border with the communist democrats specific kiss.

If he does that...the White House makes a phone call and NBC gets nervous.

aamericannovice • 9 years ago

I tried to smuggle my puppy on the bus, but her tail kept on sticking out. I couldn't say that was my tail.

MAGNUSONE • 9 years ago

But Tokyo has 4 Million millionaires to a population of 12 Million. Looks like a 33% density there. Survey must have been ex-Japan.

Toronto is on the list before taxes.

isit2016yet • 9 years ago

Can't figure that as well- especially since this article is the same written by http://www.cnbc.com/id/1007...

New York all 5 boroughs, or just Manhattan?

Ryan Serhant • 9 years ago

Of course the 5 boroughs. If it were just Manhattan, NYC would top even Monaco.

The source pegs NYC's millionaire net worth figure at 389,000 for NYC. If it were Manhattan alone then Manhattan would be at 45% millionaire count.

According to the IRS, There are more people who earned $1MM in Manhattan last year there are in every whole state in the U.S. other than NY State, CA and TX. Manhattan only has 1.5mm people.

Nowhere in the world beats Manhattan when it comes to sheer wealth.
