Heard today that 21-year-old Farhan Ahmed is paralyzed- it severed his spine. Can't help but wonder if the shooter had anything to do with the Law Professor being killed months ago. Might explain by the shooter thought the Government was watching him and hearing voices.

Ronny is paralyzed, but in VERY HIGH spirits. He's VERY positive on, and off campus, and through this time in his life. Usually people would be in a life crisis, complaining, crying, and being upset. But not Ronny. I know him personally. He's the most positive student I know. He'll always be cracking up laughing, or making someone else laugh. He'll sit down with you, talk to you, and give you the best advice that you need to hear. Even though he can't walk right now, it doesn't mean he won't ever again. If you knew him like we do on campus.... oh my Gosh. Ronny is capable of ANYTHING. Literally ANYTHING. He could possibly ride his longboard while doing his firebreathing talent. He'll be home in 4 days, and back on campus by February 16th. We CAN'T wait.

I don't know for sure, but the shooter didn't get his law degree from FSU, but from Texas Tech. Since Merkel was a law professor at FSU I would assume that May wasn't in any of his classes. I don't see a connection between the 2.

The more i hear about this, the more I think this whole library incident may have been a suicide by cop. Nothing to prove it, it's just my guess based on the multiple packages and the fact he didn't drop his weapon when told to by the LEO's. This is just a whack situation.

That is a very good ideal. Make the lawyers just go to the Law Library, to contain the possible threat of another mass shooting.

Your logic doesn't hold water. We banned crime, it's still here. We banned drugs, and we all know the story there. We banned murder, it still happens. We banned Booze, and we know how well prohibition went over. Banning something won't stop it from happening unless you take away our god-given free will as humans. Last time I checked, that was pretty well impossible. If your forbade weapons to the populace, they'll fashion their own anyway.

Not a good idea to shoot at 5 cops, who have their guns pointed at you. Most of the reporting cops have been on the job just over 1 year.

I have heard and read that 30 rounds were fired in all between the PD and Myron May. I think this would mean that some of those 30 were from May's gun--not that he was shot 30 times. In any case, I think we can surmise he had multiple wounds.

I heard somewhere that the officers had just been weapons certified 13 days ago. Maybe that was about the FSU officers.

Chief Perry said that they had just been through active shooter training 13 days prior. Perhaps that's what they were referencing on the radio.
