This really is disturbing.

J.e. Dyer • 9 years ago

Agreed. It seems to just be coincidence that this happened at a Kroger after the Bloomberg gun-grabbers have been hounding the chain to ban guns in their stores. One report I saw said it seemed to be gang related.

The attack certainly gives impetus to gun-rights reasoning though.

I don't happen to think adult men should have to just sit still for being victimized in these attacks. But there's no denying that a lot of people see things like this and immediately think more about how women alone, or people with children, would need every advantage they could get to protect themselves.

One thing for sure: Nancy Pelosi would assume SHE had every right to armed protection if she were in that parking lot.

Renee Nal • 9 years ago

Gun rights - first thing that crossed my mind. It has been on my mind quite a bit lately. And I did not know that about Kroger. The truth is that these attacks will continue unless there is a change in the culture.

Joe6Pack • 9 years ago

These are not gangs. They call themselves "fam mobs" short for family mobs.

I'm from Memphis, and this does not surprise me since Memphis is a 70% majority black city and white racism is always the main topic of discussion among the locals who still cling to their victimhood status as a way to escape blame for their bad behavior and lack of character.

BTW... thank you for your service. I enjoy your columns here.

Thanks for the insights and for the kind words, Joe6Pack.

Black attackers, Hmmmmmm. Naaa, Sharpton won't make the scene.

It's coming, being egged on by this Administration and the socialist media.

There is only one thing that can be done, to save our country....

These youth need to be put down, period. Apparently, it is too late to change their upbringing. The parents of these sick and disgusting kids failed...miserably..

Dave G Marshall • 9 years ago

The mentality and lacking intellect of the majority of this group shows everybody why blacks are so mistreated by most white racists. Satire.
When groups of any color people participate in such activities and if any get shot then it is the shooter that is the demon. These poor black kids were just minding their own business.
There is something wrong with these kids heads that they think this is funny. They don't think they will be caught because they all look alike.
If what I said is deemed racist by anybody then I will wear that distinction with honor.

Maybe Margaret Sanger was right...

A profile with one comment and no up votes usually indicates a troll or an agitprop. I know which this one is.

jerrymcguire12 • 9 years ago

I'm shocked that you're laughing and saying "they got that white dude".

This is disgusting - I don't care what race the kids were or what race they may have been targeting. This only shows how utterly damaged our future is, if this is what's coming.

tommaile • 9 years ago

I don't think for one minute that rioting, mob violence, and criminality are related to race, which is, of course, a cultural distinction and not supported by biological classification. Obviously, it's trivial to find similar examples of mob violence for any race one cares to mention.

But there is something deeply wrong with some aspect of the culture of this group. What portion of it is related to race? What portion to national indoctrination? To religion? To youth? To gender?

Regarding the Sharpton remark, I think it's a valid point. I'd like to see some serious scrutiny here on why these people did this.

Xavier • 9 years ago

Race and culture cannot be separated. PC wisdom wants us to believe they are unrelated, but no other ethnic groups in the U.S. display this type of behavior. It's a variation on the nature vs. nurture discussion: both are intertwined factors.

And the reason they mob is: because they want to, and because they can. Children are not born with morals, and when they are not taught civility and respect for others, they don't care about the rest of society. The only thing that kept them in line was fear of prosecution, and now Obama and Holder have removed that.

tommaile • 9 years ago

I can appreciate that this is a conservative site and that the regulars here have strong feelings about Obama, but I think it's overstating more than a little to grant one man blame for this.

Xavier • 9 years ago

Obama and Holder are not one man, not even between them both.

And I'll accept that others are to blame too - so let's say "Obama and Holder and the progressive judicial system". Happy now?

tommaile • 9 years ago

Not really.

Do you know any card tricks?

aemoreira81 • 9 years ago

That PC culture is correct...and what makes them correct, and you wrong, is the fact that humans have free will and that one's IQ and mannerisms are almost exclusively the result of nurture, if recent British studies that question the heritability of IQ are correct. Your second paragraph is contradictory to your first.

As for prosecution, only the stupid believe that Obama and Holder are responsible for any of this race crime, as these are almost always state cases. If this case is not prosecuted as a hate crime, it will be for 1 orf 2 reasons:

1. The people attacked were so racially diverse that it is impossible to determine who was targeted.
2. There is no clear motive of hate identifiable, based on race.

anarchyst - Margaret Sanger was never right. One is not born smart or dumb---one develops or is raised that way.

Xavier • 9 years ago

Apparently you cannot read, or, like most liberals, see only what fits your world view. There is no contradiction in my statement

Which word of "both are intertwined factors" is giving you difficulty?

if recent British studies that question the heritability of IQ are correct

To make a claim - that IQ and mannerisms are the result of nurture - and then follow it up, without any citation, with 'if recent studies are correct' is like reading a sixth grade report on the abominable snowman AGW. This is how you think? This is how you expect to sway the opposition? You're in over your head and it shows.

"As for prosecution, only the stupid believe that Obama and Holder are responsible for any of this race crime, as these are almost always state cases."

You aren't aware the DOJ is involved at a state level? What planet are you living on?

Your post is so inaccurate and so biased that it's laughable. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and yours seem well suited to your intelligence level. Good luck with that.

aemoreira81 • 9 years ago

Maybe you should check your privilege and do the research if you doubt my claim? The opposition needs to do the same...do the research. As for the DOJ and state level...I choose not to believe in conspiracy theories.
