The main couple is pretty drama free because both characters are very honest in their own ways. They never really hide their emotions or their intentions. So they’re set as a very healthy couple.

The big drama comes from the Prez and Vice-Prez… since we DO know that the Vice-Prez is the sort of guy who will jeopardize a relationship when an attractive woman gives him any attention.

See You Tomorrow At the Foodcourt is one of those shows I which got a full 12 episodes. I could watch those two hang out at a food court all day. I assume at some point they’d pull Gorilla Girl into their shenanigans (those the face reveal at the final ep was kinda perfect).

Been binging The Klutzy Hall Monitor and the Girl With the Short Skirt. a solid adaptation of the manga… and perhaps superior? The animation style I felt was a better match of the utter goofiness of the characters (which include an anti-social troll who transforms into a handsome man when in the presence of books).

It also got me to catch up with the manga. Later chapters are less about Poem & Sakuradaimon… but honestly? It’s fine. I find the side characters just as winning as those two. Perhaps because one of the most memorable parts of the anime thus far was the manga club episode… and the later chapters actually explore the manga club with the new characters.

Also liking I Became Friends With the Second Prettiest Girl in School though that one doesn’t look as good as the manga. I am in the serious eps that deal with divorce so not as much as a funtime binge as Klutz/Skirt.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You is also a nice mellow time, though a but inconsequential. The 15 min eps are about the right length.

I think Zathura is most important in that it’s where Jon Favreau starts learning the skills to make a sci-fi adventure, which serves him well when he directs Iron Man three years later.

I guess this can go with the prompt because this week I did a double feature of 28 Years Later and The Bone Temple, which star Ralph Fiennes as Doctor Kelson.

You know…. zombie movies can be about hope, dang it! I mean, the movie even starts with a theme of hope! There’s an entire village that has managed to survive for 28 years after the outbreak, and frankly most of the people within are functioning members of society. So there was a zombie outbreak. Life goes on.

And the continued themes about how death is inevitable… but so is love. The movies go out of their way to remind you that the zombies aren’t just scary monsters… (which they are). They also used to be humans. And from Doctor Kelson’s perspective, it is his duty to everything he can to treat them as patients even at the risk of his own life.

A baby is born, and with it the hope that future generations will overcome the rage virus.

A previously scary alpha zombie proves that he is worthy of love and trust.

Damn. Who knew you could get melancholy and misty-eyed during a zombie movie. Mad props to Danny Boyle and ESPECIALLY Nia DiCosta (whose sequel I thought was actually BETTER).

I wonder if we’re going to find out the MCU could have only existed during the Obama era.

A series about optimism where good overcomes evil, a billionaire can see the error of his ways and do things to help humanity, a guy dressed up in the American flag is a symbol of goodness, and swole gods are friendly and relatable and not at all looksmaxxing.

I’m 50, and I quite liked it. From the creator themselves, it’s “I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream”, a classic sci-fi tale, but done with cute characters.

Yeah, I was talking about this with a fellow movie fan, but in the 90’s the way to get to directing films was through music videos, which were often seen as commercial for albums. David Fincher, Michael Bay, Tarsem Singh, and others got their starts in doing videos. YouTube videos are basically the modern day equivalent.

Man, that’s a great time. Wife usually can’t stand horror movies but she was with me here. (Though the torture scenes with the Jimmies was too extreme.)

Rewatching Avatar.

James Cameron does deserve credit for creating an almost all CGI world… and not only did it not turn off general audiences, it was the biggest hit movie of all time.

And the effects actually largely hold up almost 20 years later.

One of our co-workers was doing connections. For one of the clues, she was stumped, and so were her similiar aged coworkers. So a couple of us sauntered over and helped out with the four connecting items.

To which I said, “My God, this really was an old man thing.”

The connection was the first part of an old school hiphop group: Run (DMC), Salt (and Pepa), Public (Enemy), and Beastie (Boys)

I’m gonna make a horror movie called Bathrooms. It’s going to be about everything gojng wrong in a bathroom. The plumbing to the shower is leaking, and there’s a water stain on the ceiling in the first floor. The cheapo tower rack just falls off. And who’s leaving all that hair in the sink drainpipe?

Seriously, I’m super scared thinking of it.
