Love metallics!! I'll have to look for those I'm thinking of writing a post on bible journaling with the Dollar Tree. There are so many great finds at the DT that will work for bible journaling and like you said not cost a bunch of $$.

I've seen a few good examples using washi. Edging each page or the beginning of each book has been done. I've only used super skinny washi on my Romans 12:2 page for stems on my flowers (above). My sister has made some washi feathers and added them into her bible on one of her pages. I'll ask her if I can post it.

I'm not too adept and the hand lettering although I'd love to learn!!! I just wonder if it something that can be learned?? If not I could always go with tracing :D

My son and I both like the Jack fiction books. but I saw the body book at the homeschool convention and really really liked all the flaps.

Joyce a glue gun is a great tool to have around the house it is like a lady's version of duct tape. It pretty much can do it all when u want to stick something to something else :)

it is super easy and my dd2 loved getting to paint. Actually all my kids love to paint, they don't get to do it very often so it is a treat.

We've hired out most of the basement thus far. We are doing some of
it ourselves but my handy hubby works long hours at his day job and a
baby that won't let me put her down definitely slows the project down. We've got a deadline too. June 30th my in-laws move in to the apartment down there. Got to get it finished!!

another example of how kids don't need fancy toys their imaginations can take them anywhere. I just saw a battery operated hop scotch mat?? what??? LOL they'll throw a battery and a song into anything these days and parents buy it i guess :P
