I make salsa fresca with mangoes & tomatoes frequently in the summer. I use red onion instead of white even tho white onion is more Mexican I guess.

As a kid I wouldn't touch tomatoes, or 1000 other things, but it was Mom's version of this that finally proved too tempting and got me over my fear.

I've eaten it on la playa too, and it didn't even make me sick!

Speaking of San Blas Betty, you probably know she was on the Mexican version of Master Chef?

Legally, crosswalks exist at *all* intersections. Marked or unmarked, pedestrians have right-of-way. Motorists and pedestrians and apparently police too need to be educated about this.

Yeah I have Tell Tale Signs. Some real good stuff on there. I'd be interested to see what your picks are.

I'd have put Too Late To Stop Now in the essential category. I can understand your point of view on it, but if I could have two Van albums it would be that one and Astral Weeks. (If I could have one Van album it would be Astral Weeks of course. If I could have one *album* it might be Astral Weeks.)

I had Hymns To The Silence on two tapes when I was 13. Wore em out.

Fuck yeah, A Sense Of Wonder. Fuck yeah, Veedon Fleece. Fuck yeah, St. Dominic's Preview especially. That might belong in the essential category.

Don't tidy The Tempest; I love every second of it. I need to know more about what you think about that one, Uncle Dan Dan. I agree that Dylan's been on a hell of a run since Good As I Been To You/World Gone Wrong, but I don't have much use for most of the two albums that came between Love & Theft and The Tempest. There are like 4 or 5 songs I'd keep between the both of them.

Other sources say it can mean both. Perhaps the lyrics of the song play on this ambiguity somewhat.

I tried a Fever Tree bitter lemon. Tasted like very tart lemonade and tonic water. I could see it with gin and maybe a splash of Rose's. Summertime. On its own...well, not for me certainly.

I think bitter lemon is a fairly standard mixer in the Commonwealth. Now I'm itching to try one. Not Schweppes tho--these days they have a bad habit of putting sodium saccharine in their products. Obviously that wasn't the case in the Sixties. I don't understand why anyone would put artificial sweetener *and* the natural stuff in one beverage. It's not a diet drink, yet it still tastes awful.
