"Eighty percent of success is just showing up."  - Woody Allen.  Very true.  I'm baffled by the comics who move to LA only to go into hiding until they move back home.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2.  "Always remember:  'Forever' in this business is three weeks." - David Feldman (told to me in my open mike days).  I always remember this when things are good and when things are horrible.  The people around you, the people making decisions, the venues that are hot, the shows that are on TV, the fortunes/misfortunes you're having - it always changes.  That's why it's a total waste of time to be pissed and bitter.  It can all change overnight.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Overall, I try to imagine being an old man looking back on all of this.  And in the end, I'll probably forget all the bullshit.  I'll just remember the good times I spent at this age trying to make people laugh, hanging with my friends, and avoiding a life of boredom.
