Dear Citizens of Boulder and of Colorado,
One of the comments referred to the fact that there might be a "curse on Colorado". That is so naive and that is like saying that "God needed another angel" when a person is murdered. The only curse on Colorado is the fact that people are not taking responsibility in ACTION programs to stop crime before it happens in the first place.
A second comment stated that the JONBENET murder case is fading. Why is it fading? Again, it is a lack of responsibility on those citizens, not only in Colorado to keep this investigation alive. Why are they letting it fade...it is because they are "too busy to care", and have the attitude "not my problem" and "you take care of your own and I will take care of mine" and "it was fate, her time to go"
I say, "stop this rhetoric of lame excuses" We of this nation are forgetting that there are 37 million crimes committed in the U.S. each year and 25,000 are homicides. We pretend that we are a great country, free of crime and have accepted crime and violence as a NORM of society in everything that we do, see, experience, and there is too much rationalization about the causes of crime and violence.
We are a nation, a developed nation, with TOO MANY people that are incarecerated. I am not saying that they should be free...I am saying that TOO MUCH CRIME IS OCCURRING AND THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT WE HAVE HAD IS INCARCERATION.
Dr. Irvin Waller, Canada, has written a great book, "LESS LAW, MORE ORDER". We should read it and try to work to get to the ROOT causes of crime in our nation. It is our responsibility to work together to stop the scourge of crime.
Our citizens are hurting, raping, beating, maiming, selling our children, and murdering our own people. We have a war on terror to combat; outside of the borders of our country and ALSO, AND FOREMOST here within our own country.
So Americans, stand up... do not forget the JonBenets and the Jessica Lunsfords and the Renee Olubunmi Rondeaus and the Lacey Fergusons and the Chandra Levys, just to name a few of the hundreds of thousands of victims of crime over the past two decades. Work with John Ramsey and Collene Campbell and Hedie and Rich Foss and Brendina Tobias and Yvonne Becton and Jennifer and Bill Jenkins and Sandra and Mike McSweeney...ad infinitum.

Dear FoolsGold,
It is sad, but it is so true that guns in the hands of criminals, the angry, the deranged, the mentally disturbed, the ignored, the disgruntled because of lack of education as to the real issues of this country, easily purchase a gun and then go on a rampage. The solution that you have above, run toward the attacker, might be a good solution in the light of the fact that guns are so easily obtained in this country for no good means. However, that should not be a solution to an attacker at all and the solution should NOT also be that you have a gun to counter attack.
The solution is to have GUN LAWS enacted all over the U.S.
Yes, it is a right and a privilege, according to the Constitution, to "pack a gun", bu this privilege has been abused over and over again.
Our daughter, Renee, was murdered by two recidivist criminals, in 1994. They obtained a gun illegally, stalked her, held her at gunpoint and then strangled her. She was a contributing member of society, and would have given them assistance. Instead they chose to murder her. They have been arrested, and are now serving life without parole. If it had not been for the gun, she may have been able to escape them, because they were "high" on heroin. She was a runner and could have out run them...they were obese and out of shape.
However, the gun ruled.
We would like to have your comments.
Yes, FoolsGold, you are right to say that the one being attacked should run in a zig-zag pattern, but how do we get rid of the PROBLEM OF THE GUN IN THE WRONG HANDS in the first place.
Your primary rule is good... but why should we, as a citizen of this country, have to "ZAG" INSTEAD OF "ZIG"? Why can't we feel safe wherever we go and know that it is our right and privilege to expect that we are "always in the right place at the right time."

We are very concerned with the state of affairs in the United States with the fact that Americans in general who consider CRIME, MURDER AND VIOLENCE as NORMS of this nation. We believe that this has occurred because of the choice of the media, to only choose to feature those crimes which they, the media, deem sensational and which will bring them MORE and HIGHER ratings for their reporting.
Thus the American public does not realize that approximately 37 million crimes are committed EACH YEAR in this country; 25,000 of them homicides.

We need to work together to STOP CRIME BEFORE IT OCCURS in the first place and we need to bring about more awareness as to the depth and breadth of the school shootings all over the nation, and the extent to which FIREARMS play a critical part in making it easier for these deranged and dangerous people to commit murder.

We of the Renee Olubunmi Rondeau Peace Foundation/National Coalition of Victims in Action (www.rorpf.org) have organized this national network to bring about an awareness of and a stop to crime in this country.

We have worked with a fantastic couple, SANDRA AND MIKE MCSWEENEY of Virginia, who have organized a movement called PEOPLE PEDALING PEACE. We have participated in this national cause for five years. Sandra has brought together victims and survivors of school shootings from Columbine, West Paducah, Jonesboro, Springfield, Oregon, and the states of New York, California, Georgia, Maryland and Virginia, along with "bike cops" and law enforcement in a 200 mile bike ride for awareness. The youth, law enforcement, Chiefs of Police, the former Director of the Office of Victims of Crime of USDOJ, schools, bike cops, victims and survivors came together for one week to discuss healing, solutions to school shootings, and to bring the facts of school shootings to the media to report.

We sympathize with all of the latest victims of the school shootings. We want to tell you that we of the RORPF/NCIVA also organized a national movement to assist the victims and survivors of the Virginia Tech Massacre called the VIRGINIA TECH RESOLUTION. 125 individuals and 50 national, state and local organizations signed on to assist and a committee of 15 members representing these organizations traveled to Virginia Tech to meet with President Charles Steger and his committee.

We are crime fighters and victim advocates.
Our daughter, Renee Olubunmi Rondeau was murdered by two recidivist criminals, one on parole, on Halloween night, October 31, 1994.
Our best friend, Dr. Yoasi Mushala, Professor of Psychology, Howard University, Washington, D.C. was murdered by two recidivist criminals, out on parole, in July 1982.
Neither knew their perpetrators. They died for a small bit of cash.
We have been crime fighters and victim advocates since 1982, and community activists long before then. We would like to meet with you and share our experiences over the past 27 years.
