It’s Lucky.

I think it's mainly lucky but also being a bit brave. I was super lucky when I got to quit my job in my late twenties, and go travel Europe for a couple of months. I only had my student loan debt and I had a bit of an inheritance that I could dip into. My godparents were willing to let me stay with them for as long as I needed when I got back. I only lived in a studio so I didn't have a ton of stuff or a mortgage. So I definitely had more than most going for me in my twenties. But it was also scary. I didn't know if I'd find a job again in such an absolutely bad job market when I got back. I'd never traveled internationally by myself before. I had never stayed in a hostel before. I'm a big introvert so meeting a non-stop stream of strangers was definitely out of my comfort zone. Have I ever referred to my trip as me being brave? No. But if I reflect upon it, I think there is bravery in forcing yourself out of your comfort zone. There are different shades of being brave. It's not hero status, but it's still putting yourself in really uncomfortable situations.

Re: Why Does My Kitchen Look the Same as Don Draper’s?

I am super intrigued by this! Three things that I love is the ability to cook meat at the right levels (I tend to overcook my meat), being able to watch my food cook as I do other things and having a second oven during the holidays. The price is more expensive than we paid for our oven though.

Re: Hobby Lobby: The Left Is Weeping Hot, Bitter Tears, and It Should

Would you say our hot, bitter tears look something like this? http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cn...

I don't believe that my boss should be able to determine my healthcare treatment based on his or her beliefs. I love Christmas, I truly do. But I don't understand the bent on making everyone and every corporation celebrate it. If you're Christian, by all means, wish everyone a "Merry Christmas." Celebrate it to your heart's content. But by declaring that there is a "war on Christmas" when the true problem is that it's a holiday of gluttony and excess and materialism in the name of a man who forsake the riches of earth.

Re: Data Stories: Tyler Singletary of Klout

Glad you enjoyed it! Everyone will tell you to do Blue Lagoon (and they're right) but Iceland has a lot of (hot) community pools that are much cheaper and really nice. I went snorkeling and did a bit of ice climbing (was horrible and lost my shoe). Are you renting a car? I got stuck doing a lot of tours because I didn't have a rental car. The hotdog stand is fun. Be sure to plan to go out big on the weekend (apparently it's til 6 am?!?!). I wasn't there during the weekends but apparently their nights out are epic. The Fish Market restaurant is supposed to be amazing. CHANGE YOUR MONEY BEFORE YOU LEAVE. No one would exchange Icelandic Kronur back in the states.

Re: I Have Been A Full for Lesser Things | 365 Days In Colorado

You have such a good blog!
