This contrasts a portrait of an Afghani woman in the snow and Afghani hills, with a winter view on my 17th floor, New York City terrace in the snow. The caption that accompanied the photo of the woman was "Heavy snow began falling after the [2009] new year; 1300 Afghans are estimated to have died from cold this winter."
