You wreck my rant when you're logical and well reasoned. Now I have to go off and mull over your points. Humph.

Re: Ad Execs and Other Bloodsuckers Revamp TV Marketing

Just my point Ptdavis, I did pay for it, and season one as well, but no more, I assure you. If clorox is going to embed their ads in my art and entertainment they better plan on selling fewer of their products and distributing the dvds for free. I pay for my media consumption and the artists who create it, not for smarmy ad guys who's single creative idea of the year is to piggy-back on "Mad Men." Part of the brilliance of "Mad Men" is that it demonstrates the inherent soullessness and self-prostitution that advertising demands of it's executives and writers. It's ironic that any corporation would be stupid enough to associate themselves with such tortured characters. I know I'm not the only person out there who despises "product placement." There's nothing like plugging in a TV series you've just purchased and then being pissed off before you ever see a frame of your show. .

Re: Ad Execs and Other Bloodsuckers Revamp TV Marketing

You may also find it cute to discover a video ad on the season 2 dvd you just paid for. Others are disgusted by this invasion of our personal lives by the whores and pimps who populate the advertising industry. On the upside, everyone now has the perfect moral right to download this show illegally. Screw A&E and boycott Clorox, it's the right thing to do, folks.
