That's exactly what I was trying to say about the "searching the home without a warrant" statement.There was a lot of embellishment here which wasn't needed since he got the guy clearly slapping down the camera on video.

Ok, so sue him, the evidence is there. And I agree that it's outrageous. I just asked for context. That guy could have been beating that woman 5 minutes prior.

Where's the citizen journalism? Is this guy going to tell his story or are we just pulling videos off of YouTube for click bait?

That made no sense. I didn't claim to be a journalist, nor did I come here to just watch without thinking. YOU might want to read though buddy because the site is preaching citizen journalism, so that does carry some responsibility.

No, I agree snatching the camera was out of line, absolutely warranting discipline from the department. That was gotten on camera and can't be refuted.

But "reporting" that the cop also "tried to illegally search a home without a warrant"? Yeah, if you can't actually get details to substantiate that, you shouldn't report it as such until you can. That statement could very well not be true, and the fact that they are separating the guy taking the video from the woman is a clear red flag.

I applaud what you're trying to do here, but without having any context for this video, it's meaningless. If that woman the police were talking to called the police reporting in-progress domestic abuse or assault, I'm sure they can come in. If they think someone is in danger, they're coming in hard. If you are going to be "reporting", we need all the facts.

I've read the footnote 10 times, finally figured it out. I think. You could have maybe just put the T2B up top in the desc with "on rounds 2-4 only" as the footnote for that line.

Paul, fair enough.

The real significance was that we added a trigger type that can watch for frozen/live, not necessarily that you can carry those notifications via Twitter. That was just an example. In building the Twitter trigger functionality, though, we created a "trigger plugin system". Ben would be the best one to speak more about that, but the significance there is that triggers can be anything. Tweets and HTTP Posts are what we have now. SMS and emails are an obvious next step. In the future, the plugin system will probably be open to developing on top of, even better.

An immediate work-around would be to create a separate twitter account that does nothing for you but carries these specific frozen/live tweets. You can then use the Twitter platform for SMS'ing or emailing, since that's a functionality they provide.

Thanks for this post and for participating! It was a great time for sure, and if it wasn't for the holiday, we'd be raring right along. The most exciting part for me is being a part of this awesome community of people and really just figuring out what we can make happen. Because something WILL happen!

We are still working on choosing specific sensors. Most of the discussion about that is on the wiki and google group.
