Trump has shown no backbone yet to persist in resisting the pressures of the Left and the leftist Republicans. I don't foresee victory in this "battle". We, the resistance to convince the center left and center right that their pliable convictions will be the end of America as we know it. Immigration must remain an orderly and legal process and not an invasion. This is no different than the Mongol hoard, the Ottoman invasion and the current invasion into Europe by the Islamic hoard.

Forty years ago Dems distanced themselves from socialist, but remained substantial in numbers as progressives and ultra liberal. Apparently McCarthy and his minority in the republican party didn't go far enough in removing the "socialists" within the democrat party. Too many seeds left in the field that have now multiplied and grown into large oaks. Malcolm X railed against liberals but mostly against "the system" in general. Today black men, women and families are embraced by Americans as never before and mostly due to encouragement from the right side of the aisle while the left continues to "use" all people of color. When all those within the Republican Party have shed their bigotry our nation will have the chance to heal and be stronger by truly embracing brotherhood that strengthens. This is a two way street, but the ego of the white man must be constrained first. God is behind this rise in the freedom that minorities are finding. Go God.

Also, though there is a Christian ethic involved in handling the plight of those who say they are escaping for their lives this is a political issue regarding the citizens of the US, not an issue concerning their souls. In this case Mr. Soerens misrepresents Christianity into this dilemma on the frontier.

If you really believe this Mr. Soerens you need to volunteer to go to their entry locations and help with the interview process required for more than 10mil (that's thousand) persons seeking to cross the border. It will take more than all workers at the border and all the military sent to the border to process all those "asylum" seekers. I'm not so sure about your understanding of the law saying "anyone" who reaches the border seeking asylum must be heard.

Sorry you're not too bright. See, you don't understand loyalty. You don't understand business. Trump sees all of his appointees as business associates, they work together. When one stops shirks his duty you change players at the opportune time, not earlier. You wait for the right time. I think this was a mutual agreed upon change in leadership that best serves the Trump agenda. Sessions knew he was only 50% effective in his office and Trump knew that he could not act like an ass and fire him three months into his tenure. Your sense of loyalty is to put up with ineptness "forever" when loyalty is actually falling on your sword when necessary. Sessions is a fine upstanding man who mistakenly recused himself from the role he was too scared to deal with. He will do well in whatever he goes on to do but will be seen as someone who is afraid to stick his neck out. On the other hand your understand may be clouded by your "never Trump" syndrome.

There is a difference between make America great and make the United States great found in the meaning of the american dream, the american ethic and the american heart. All found in what else, our founders. They were basically good people leaving religious persecution seeking the ability to live life unfettered from civil constraints on their beliefs. Nationalism is for Germans, Mexicans, English and of course most of all the French. Our nation is so deluded of "nationalism" but is endowed by God with "Americanism". This is what we strive to keep. Americanism has not been taught in PUBLIC schools on a broad base ever. It is time to teach our children well.

While what the author claims is true and he so eloquently wrote he does not mention that at the turn of the 19th to 20th century when progressives were seeking which party would embrace their ideals. The obvious choice and correct one was the party of racial bigots. The party of the KKK. The Democrat Party. They infiltrated their ideals regarding abortion and erasing the mentally ill and deformed. Progressivism has been creeping into our society for some time and is now melded into one political party. Theirs is not politics, it is demonic, sick, antithetical to civil society and must be stopped.

Interstate mail order commerce had always been free of state taxation, but the pervasiveness of interstate commerce via the internet has killed the golden goose. The commerce got too large and could no longer be left without some sort of equitable taxation for all of the US. I still do not see why or how Judges get to weigh in on this. it should be left to Congress to pass laws and enact tax code.
