I'm genuinely interested in your take since I struggle with the "cloud" vs. owning my own data. I'd prefer to have all my content self-hosted, but see the appeal of using services like Gist, Flickr, etc.

Re: Enterprise 2.0 Needs To Stop Being So Naive

Ahhhh, but it's all about hype these days...not just for the the traditional media, but for the blogosphere as well. And then after all the buzz, people can start making money via conferences, consulting, workshops, etc. Where's the fun in working with dead, er, legacy systems!? Who wants to live in the REAL world? Again, spot on Paul.

Re: Trustworthy Online Stores

I agree Canoga Camera is my goto for online stores. The best local store I have been to is Pro Photo Supply in Portland. Knowledgeable (and modest) staff, surprisingly very competitive prices (Tempe Camera had neither of those), and a large inventory. I have bought all my latest gear, including the 5D Mk2, there because they had items in stock and were only a few bucks more expensive than online options.

Re: Making the switch to liveBooks

Congrats! I'm happy that you have finally "outsourced" this work...Tim Ferriss would be proud. I think you picked a fantastic solution for your needs and have explained them here well. Can't wait to see the results!!!

Re: Get Closer…

Excellent post; love your personal reflection. Certainly pushing one's comfort level has to be one of the most challenging task for many people...including myself.

Re: Everything is inspiration: Part One

I think you indirectly nailed a very, very important point about inspiration: diversify. I find myself being overloaded by a single source: The Internet. This causes paralysis as well. I almost immediately get inspired when I go on hikes; most likely because I rarely do it anymore. I'm also glad you mentioned Stephen King's book as I need to re-read that...it's been quite some time. A book that always is on my desk is The Element of Style.

Re: New Year, New Site › Bryce Bohling {A Daily Dose}

Of course it was! :)

Re: New Year, New Site › Bryce Bohling {A Daily Dose}

Thanks! I am hoping it will greatly simplify the process...yet still make it easy for friends and family to see what the Bryce-master is up to!

Re: New Year, New Site › Bryce Bohling {A Daily Dose}

Add your comments here.
