Personally I find that a larger font size (but not too large) works best so I can quickly scan the line and scroll down. The worst user experience for me is when some sites take over native scrolling and implement their own. It's almost always too slow and doesn't quite work right.

I don't agree with putting everything and the kitchen sink in a long scrolling page, like you are alluding to with some of the latest trends. Some sites that use parallax effects get attached to it a bit too easily, and the optimal experience is sacrificed for a flashy design. Fun, interactive effects should always augment the experience, not detract.

Re: Olbermann & Garofalo make racist comments on MSNBC

Just as Olbermann and Garafalo were generalizing, I'd caution against bundling their views and actions as the "Democratic way". All Democrats and liberals do not share their viewpoints.

Olbermann can be on the fringe at times, and his show was an indulgence of mine because I happen to agree with most of his politics. That, and it's a free subscription in iTunes.

I agree that this kind of talk has no place in society, and thanks for calling them out on it. We should all do this regardless of which side the politics falls.

I'll be unsubscribing from his show.

Re: We are a nation more than a man

I think you mistake worship for enthusiasm. A lot of Americans, like myself, became disillusioned with our country we all love over the past 8 years. Not because of any one man, but because of the attitudes and deeds that were carried out that some of us don't associate with being an American. What some of us see in Obama is a potential return to the principles that we hold dear, and I think that is why you see such enthusiasm for him.

We're lucky that Obama knows full well that "we are a nation more than a man". By rooting for our new president, we are in essence rooting for our country, and that makes me a proud patriot.
