Chan is a great author, I would highly recommend any of his books. He is the real deal. I have read them both, and would say that Crazy Love is a gift to the church. Read it, think over it, read it slowly. It's convicting, thought provoking and soul stirring. It's good.

Only thing I didn't like about the book, is that at the end of the chapters it prompts you to go online and watch some videos, I thought they were kind of a waste a time, but I know some people really enjoyed them. But that's hardly a complaint, the book rocked.

Re: A Primer on Satan & Demons

Hey Nathan,

Thanks for the follow and comment. I think I base it on, as well does Wayne Grudem, on the fact that only God is omnipresent. I agree with ya that Satan is a spiritual being, he is not no spatially limited like we are (bound to a body), but he is not everywhere at one time.

Re: Not Just for Theological Uber Geeks

Sailhamer's, The Pentateuch as Narrative, is outstanding! I am working on it. I have the Chapter titles and rough outlines. I am working on it slowly. I have a publisher, who said whenever I am done, to send it to him and he will pass it on. So who knows. The project has very much been on the back burner, with Redeemer and The Station keeping me busy.

Re: Kenny(B)Blog - A song I came up with. He lays out that there are three ways in which we enter temptation.

1) Satan and Demons
2) The World
3) Our Hearts

- James 1: 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.

It is very correct to say that nothing MAKES us sin. We sin on our own. Especially w/ the truth of 1 Corinthians 10:13

- 1 Cor. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

This verse clearly states that any time we are tempted we can escape every time, because God has provided an escape.

Great question!!!! If this were true, it would be so much easier to get away with sin. "You made me angry!" James and 1 Cor. dispel these lies, that I bet Satan would love for us to believe so we can justify our sin.

Just a few thoughts.

:)

Re: EatBible - We have gone global. Who would wear that!?"

And as I was showing them this. A girl was standing next to me in a shirt with piano keys across it that said "Jesus gave Peter the Keys."

HAH!

Awkward!

Re: eatbible.org - John Piper - Sermon Jam

I love sermon jams!!!!! It is such a good book!!!!!

I really want to read more LLoyd Jones. I have the Spiritual Depression book on my amazon wishlist. I really dig Lloyd-Jones after reading him. He is the bomb. I have, The Cross, on there as well. I really want to read John Stott's, The Cross of Christ. But...I am poor!!!! Books are what I gift for presents year round now. I love that!

Hahah. You seem like a kindred soul when it comes to books. I love Mark Dever's stuff. 9 Marks of a healthy church is legit. I really dig, The Deliberate Church, that book was very foundational for my thinking on making sure that I am centered on the Gospel. Amen!!

I badly want to read, the Packer and Dever book on Substitutionary Atonement. I read parts of it while standing in a bookstore. Love it!!!!!

Re: Silly Shirts - Part 1

Ahhh yes.
