No we are not. You'll actually see me using a few different set ups in the near future that are a combination of different heads, cabs, etc. But an Orange is always a good one to keep in the mix for sure!

Yeah, being focused is one thing. I wasn't referring to focus though. I'm referring to a lot of the newer "thrash" bands out there right now that limit their own musical possibilities by staying inside of a small tiny little box creatively when writing a record so that it sounds very much in line with everything that has already been done before them, and in most cases it's been done much better in the past. There's no new flavor or personality in it because right from the start they set out to make a "thrash" record rather than just writing some songs and seeing where it takes you. My only point was to remind people to keep an open mind when writing music. Don't box yourself in or it'll get boring really quick when it should be fun. That's the only reason to do it!

Concept albums? Anything is possible. I've thought very seriously about that in the past but the idea never materialized fully, or hasn't yet in my mind anyway. We'll see.

And yes, the record will come out on vinyl FOR SURE!

Yeah, those patches do exist and I'm pretty sure Cam has one on his jacket. But I think we're sold out of them right now. The last round of touring wiped them out. When we get more of them ordered I'll post something on the site so you and everyone else will know. Thanks!

Thanks koadan91. Glad the blog turned you onto some new music, that is it's purpose. I will try as always to help expose bands that I feel are worthy of being introduced to the world so that will not really change at all. I'm pretty sure Holy Grail is recording right now so look out for that record in the near future.

Hey melvinvannebula. See above answer on the record release. The tour? Well we just came off of a long U.S. and Canadian tour this past Oct/Nov/Dec so we don't have any new dates right now but that will soon change, keep checking back here for details on all that type stuff.

Thanks andysapp. I'm fiending for the new record too. It's actually been recorded for over a year but for a plethora of freaky reasons it's release date has been pushed a few different times. But we'll have a solid release date to announce soon.

I couldn't disagree more with the above statement. The best 3 Inches shows that I've seen are the most recent ones, stripped down to a 3 piece basically with the 4th being Cam singing. Justin rips on bass almost as much as he does on a guitar which was extremely impressive, to me anyway. Jamie was great, I love that dude. But it's also nice to see 3 Inches without 27 people on stage like fucking Kool and the Gang.

Nice new blog! How many times do I see a young band jump into a horrible contract? About once a week. They're usually friends of mine and it's always somewhat discouraging to watch them go from extreme excitement to pure hatred for life within the course of about a year because of their record deal. The good news is that things are slowly changing. There are enough horror stories floating around out there now that bands are becoming smarter about not getting completely screwed in their deals.

Thanks for posting a well thought out comment, it's actually pretty rare.

I would hate to see this kill any smaller indy radio stations but after reading that post it looks like it might do just that which is a whole other problem I had not even thought about. It seems to me that it would make sense to allow smaller stations to broadcast without collecting anything from them. You'd think it'd be common sense, in the same way that you would expect a different scale for payment for let's say, usage of an Early Man song in a Budweiser commercial during the super bowl versus seeing that someone used a song in a short student film. They're both using the song, but the scope is completely different. As far as bands not getting royalties due to them, that's all on the label. It doesn't surprise me and obviously it's wrong and evil. But I still think the idea that the band or artist should be given a small royalty for airplay or public use is good (the fact that labels will then try to steal the money aside). Enough people abuse our work for free. I'm all for getting something back for what I do.

You are exactly right that the wisest course of action for a band is to ignore labels and do everything themselves, unless the band can find a particularly artist friendly deal which believe it or not does still happen from time to time. The bottom line is that musicians need to learn to become good business people and need to stop allowing these morons to steal all of our earnings. It's no small task.
