Registered for recall immediately, got box a few days later. Didn't send it in for a few more days. They received on 22 Nov. Just got email (17 Dec) that they are sending new unit back to me. Decoded serial number and it's a 6th gen. Mildly amused, certainly pleased. Sent in a 4GB 5 year old 1st gen, getting a 8GB brand new 6th gen. Flame on.

Box arrived yesterday - back in FedEex today. From the paperwork they sent, it sure looks like a gen 1 refurb program. Whatever I get will go back in the car where it's been for 5+ years.

FWIW, for those worried about charges, the paperwork made it clear all costs were $0.

Not generally a negative person, but this HH was pathetic.

Even with all the work done quickly to get the "road" ready, it was a mess. Not stroller or anything-wheeled friendly - barely safely walkable in places. Certainly would not have passed ADA scrutiny. Fences missing or fallen over. And, that's without any rain. I know part of the idea is to get buyers into the storefronts, and that this year will be tough on them, but City Beach was empty and looking great (yes, it's City Beach - not your feel-good, got-money-to-burn, daisy-huggin Windjammer Park)

The theme this year: "Year of the bicycle" Um, yeah - WHY? There was absolutely nothing bicycle-friendly nor bicycle-centric about it. Was that clip-art cheaper than a better idea?

Not nearly enough dining area... again. How can you not get this one? There has always been a lack of adequate seating for the MAIN FRIGGIN DRAW of people to a street fair - FOOD!!! (for better or worse)

Finally, is there ever going to be a minimum standard for vendors? Selling knock-off dollar-store imported crap is not "eclectic", it's not carved, woven or blown, it's not Dutch nor is it "happening", and it's certainly not bringing dollars into the community or country - it's the Walmart of street-fair merchandise.

The weather was nice, so, yeah...

Agreed that local small town rags do not live up to the standards of major news outlets like the Post or the Times. I wonder why this might be. Perhaps it has something to do with salary, experience and commitment.

Seriously, should we expecting the guy grilling steaks at Applebee's to whip up some Emeril fare.

I'm guessing you don't have septic, nor did you follow the discussions and outcome of the septic battle. In simple terms, it's more bureaucratic BS that pays lip service to a problem that could be solved if competency were involved - now and then.

The IT tax passing was an unfortunate non-awareness blunder. I voted (no) because I knew to. Whatever the reason, that which we have argued already, the onus was on the supporters and they did a good job in getting the word out and following up with a vote. Good for them. Now we ALL get to pay so a few can ride. And, we're no closer to making folks responsible for their own well-being. Sad, yet typical.

You don't get why it's a such a big deal (to pay more taxes) because you enjoy the government ruining... er, running your life. I, on the other hand, can take care of myself with only minimal supervision.

I'll be interested to hear your opinion of Medicare once it comes time for you to use it. I wonder how great it will be for you then. Keep us posted.

Tell you what, if you think your comments are helpful and something you would say to someone's face - say Jenny's - then you can stand by your assertion that you are simply pointing out bad grammar.

Allow me to illustrate...

"Did you have to pass..." Translation: you are an idiot.
"I won't even try to explain..." Translation: you are such an idiot you wouldn't even understand what I'm talking about.
"Is there a copy editor..." Translation: you are such an idiot you need a backup idiot to blame.

The point is moot and only serves my self-interest to interject on the behalf of humans when you, an alien, decide to espouse self-righteousness.

We can argue the merits of truth and sanity separately as I'm not so sure they are relevant to the political process.

We don't write down Bill's talking points to copy and paste into local rag comments and we most certainly don't agree with everything any politician does... left, right, middle or alien. For instance; I'm pro-life and thankful Bush was too - however, I think the war in Iraq was a huge blunder. I know - it's crazy that I actually made that decision myself without the TV telling me to.

If you want ANY credibility, stop laying it all out for us. It's far too easy to poke holes in - a quick trip down memory lane and I can clearly revisit images of Bush hanging in effigy, Rummy with the pretty little moustache and the flag burning - all stupid parlor tricks. Surely you would be offended if I refer to you as a lynching flag-burner with a minor in political basket-weaving just because you choose to swing lefty. Think in more general terms. Comments that start out like "I'm personally opposed to what you are inferring..." will go over a whole lot better than "you idiots all watched Hannity just now, didn't you?" Say, for instance, I were to accuse you of only having one channel on your TV - and, that channel would be MSNBC. Would you not be offended that I see you so narrowly?

Not that I disagree with the sentiment, but I believe that GM made things worse all on their own. The gov is just making things worser.

I do certainly question the oversight from the gov allowing the closure of small-town dealerships that bring in much needed local tax revenue due to their high-dollar sales. I am guessing a little that a car dealership brings in a bit more per-sq-ft of operating space than several smaller businesses do.

Layoffs just punctuate the pain.

If YOU had paid attention to anything, you'd know that we-who-hate-the-children are tired of giving a free ride to both Island Transit and it's "customers". My sympathy for your cause to inform folks that you are "just as bad as everyone else" is gone. The fact that the tax increase passed is directly relative to the "in my opinion, slimy" tactics used by Martha and her lemmings to make hearts bleed. If honesty were taken into account, and the community really understood that no vote = a vote for higher taxes, then I think you would find a different result. Look at the numbers, then look at the voter registration numbers. I think we all know who had a cause to vote for. Unfortunately, I didn't have a budget to make opposing view signs.

P.S. - I don't go to Costco in Everett. I go to Burlington. So HA!

P.S.S. - I have a job. AND - I pay my own transportation costs. So HA HA!

Rotten-eggs. Not as bad as I had feared though. I thought maybe the "million" headless riders would all vote at once. Martha's comment seemed a bit snippy... color me unsurprised.

Hey, WNT, how about writing the bit about the tax a bit more honestly. "The measure will increase sales tax to 8.7%, the 2nd highest in the state." Hey, at least we're catching up on King county. Maybe if we install some light rail from Pioneer to Midway...
