Harry Reid has proposed legislation that would give the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission -- which does not answer to the President nor Congress -- vast, sweeping powers to site transmission lines wherever it sees fit. With that comes the power of eminent domain.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;NPR's series on the grid was exceptional journalism and excellent public service. The one thing it did, however, overlook was the fact that the last blackout to hit the Northeast was not cause by an antiquated grid.
