Human target and lie to me, 2 of my favorite shows, especially human target. It was the best. A real shame, and makes me question networks decisions once again. Perhaps someone else will pick it up. Too good not to continue. Reality shows are cheap to produce for a reason, as most of them suck. How about continuing shows with real quality? What a concept!

It is not the undocumented workers that are the biggest problem, first of all it is the employers that hire them. If there were criminal charges and huge fines, that would do much to dissuade these companies from hiring them. Many of the people that are trying to make a better life for themselves are really sort of independent little businesses. ... The guy with his cart selling ice cream, or the guy with the hot dog cart. The people that are doing the complaining, do they also complain when they want someone to do their landscaping or gardening for a "good price" because those people are not taking the really good middle class jobs from you. That would be the huge multinational corporations that get all the benefits of our country, and ship all the manufacturing and high tech jobs overseas where they can get someone for pennies on the dollar. It is our horrendous trade policies that are killing this country. Until we change those and punish the companies that outsource all our jobs things will only get worse. It is China, Malaysia and Vietnam that are destroying our middle class here and the companies that outsource to those countries. Sadly it is easy to blame the "brown" people. Well I am sorry but it is a very racist law and a way of intimidating people. Hell, My husband is Hispanic and would possibly be stopped. Do you carry your birth certificate around with you, because a license would not be enough.We as a country also destroyed the Mexican farmers ability to make money farming corn by our government subsidizing corn. Ruined many lives across the border. If you had the opportunity to try and make a living and feed your family, you would do whatever it took to do so, even if that means entering a country without documentation. Desperate times call for desperate measures and the decriminalizing of drugs would do so much to stop the cartels and so much of the problems that creep over the border as well. Their power and influence would be greatly reduced. Arizona had laws in place that just needed to be enforced. This law is racist and was a political move on the governors part because she was down in the polls and the other candidates supported this bill. This law will eventually destroy Arizona, just wait and see. I know I won't step foot in that state or spend one dollar there.

Yes it is amazing when they continue to spout that we have the "best health care system in the world". It isn't that we don't have wonderful doctors and nurses etc, it is our method of delivery that is so bad. Privatized unregulated insurance is a disaster, and the fact that even though we pay more than double for our health care of any other industrialized nation yet have 45 million people uninsured and another 30 million under insured is a travesty. Holland has privatized health care but it is non profit and highly regulated. Many countries have a combination of the 2, again highly regulated and not for profit, unless it is for highly specialized insurance, for instance if you want to have a private room, or gourmet food, or whatever, but the health needs of all citizens is taken care of and subsidized by the government and the very wealthy and taxes that I would have no problem paying a little more so that everyone could have coverage. It called the common good. And as far as the person who said above that they did not want their tax dollars used for abortions when it comes to subsidized health care for the poor, that is who needs it most, and I don't want my tax dollars going to pay for 2 unjustified wars, but I don't get to pick and choose where my tax dollars go and neither should they be able to decide because they happen to not believe in a womans privacy because it is no ones business but that person. The Hyde amendment is a travesty and instead of being abolished was made even more restrictive to those woman who truly need it in order to get something on the order of health insurance reform passed, because a bunch of old white religious men wanted to restrict abortion as much as they could. Religion has no business deciding what our laws should be, and it IS religion that is the basis for so much discrimination. For Gays as well. Don't believe in abortion, don't have one. But tax dollars are used for what I believe are much more egregious things than abortion, but that is my tough luck.

Very nicely said Ancient Brit. My family lives in the Netherlands and 30 years ago when I went to visit my relatives, my son who was 9 months old at the time became quite ill on the trip over as did I . My aunt took me to her doctor. He only wanted to know our ages and if we were allergic to anti biotics. He treated us at no cost with a follow up to make sure we were ok, all with no cost to us, and we were not even from that country. Think that would ever happen here? Fat chance. No our system is so broken and what just passed as health reform is just a drop in the bucket and nothing near what needs to be done to repair it so we can join the rest of the civilized,industrialized world.

All the states should do this. Hit the behemoths where it hurts. They are evil bloodsuckers. Move your money to a community bank and each state set up a state bank to compete with these guys and have all state funds in that bank. Kind of like the public option in health care. Great idea.

Agreed. We are in that very situation. My husband is 58 and was laid off in November. If it wasn't for the fact that our health care will end in a few months, he would gladly retire knowing the burden of health care would not be an issue. So we hope that something comes up in the next few months so that we don't become one of the uninsured masses after working hard for 38 years and being lucky enough to have insurance all these years. Scary stuff and outrageous that we are the only country in the world that does this to our citizens. When Johnson first pushed through medicare he envisioned the age being lowered every so many years so that we would have medicare for all at some point in the future. Sadly that did not happen. Lets hope something of that nature does can happen now

I am thrilled that Thom is back 9-12 and I for one really like Karel. I listen every afternoon and enjoy the fact that he says what he thinks, he's smart and funny . I know there have been a few derogatory comments concerning Karel, but I think perhaps people should really listen and give him a chance. Ed has his tv show so you can see him and get his perspective on things, and he was ok on the radio, but I like the fact that Karel knows the bay area and he is different. Give him a chance people!

It is an award for his move in the right direction, engaging the Muslim world, opening dialogue with Iran, pledging to put an end to nuclear weapons, it using diplomacy and yes, a repudiation of George W Bush. It will, one hopes, push him to continue on this path. As Rachel Maddow said, Desmond TUTU was given the award for trying to end apartheid, 10 years before the end of apartheid was realized. Jimmy Carter was given the award for trying to bring about middle east peace. We are still waiting. There were other examples but the point is, it is also given for what can be, not just for what is

Start calling your representatives now and call the Whitehouse about demanding there be a public option. Because the finance committee consists of senators from states that are conservative and also only make up 2% of the population of the United States, how is that fair or representative of what the American people want which is a strong public option.Health care reform will be in name only if this is dropped and we the American people will suffer greatly for it. Stop voting and protesting against your own best interests!

I am thrilled that Thom will be on for the 3 hours and seeing as how rachel is just a rehash of her tv show, which I tivo and watch daily I couldn't be happier. Thom is the smartest guy on the radio. You listeners overwhelmingly wanted Thom back on his old slot but barring that they wanted the full 3 hours so thanks for that. When he goes on green2 does that mean he will no longer be on the radio from 3-6? I hope not!

They have no ideas and want things to stay as they are. They are a hotbed of misinformation and outright lies. It is because they are out of power and they can't stand that we have a black man in the Whitehouse. That is the bottom line. Forget the Republicans, after all it is the Corporations that are running the show who in turn are running the Republicans and the Blue Dogs to do all they can to stop any reform, just as they always have. They were against social security, medicare, they were against civil rights, they were against the new deal and they have been thwarting any health care reform for 60 years. Republicans have become the party of wing nuts and are becoming a regional party and no longer a national party. When you have Republican congress people and senators actually questioning the citizenship of our President, and propagating the idea that there is an Obama death panel deciding whether you or Grandma or your baby will live or die, well you know we are in crazy town.

I want Thom Hartman on the radio, not streaming and if it can only be 4-6 than so be it, but I still think he was best live 9-12. Ed has his tv show, and he is certainly not as well informed as Thom. Thom is the smartest guy on radio. Progressive radio is so rare. We are lucky to have 960 in the bay area, but getting rid of Thom would be a HUGE mistake. I have learned SO much from him. Please keep him on the radio!

I posted yesterday about Thom and it seems I am not alone in thinking that it is a big mistake to move him. I reiterate my belief that Thom is the best and a great way to start my day (and I do love Steph and do listen to a couple of hours of her show also). I listen to Thom in my car and love brunch with Bernie on Fridays. Thom is smart, listens, does not scream and bully and I have learned a great deal listening to his show. Please put him back on from 9-12. Thanks for all you are trying to do for progressive radio.

I am very disappointed that you are dropping Thom at 9 and putting Ed in. I love Thom and think he is one of the brightest and well informed people around. I never miss his show and the time slot was perfect for me. Ed has his tv show and I think that in the end you can always watch his show and get the gist of what went on in his radio show. I don't need Ed live, I would prefer Thom. I love Green 960, can only take so much of Randi, many times informed but many times gets a little too full of herself and does not allow people to talk. Will miss democracy now, love Steph and Mike Malloy, Bill Press but not crazy about Colmes. I appreciate what you are trying to do but think the previous line up was pretty darn good. Whatever you do, I will continue to support progressive radio and green 960.
