The beta (ON PC) is expected in about a month. We'll be lucky if we see multiplayer on Switch by the end of Q2. It's bad enough to post a 3 sentence article about a tweet... at least check your work and look at the context of other tweets and previous statements. I was excited to follow NintendoSoup but I'm sorry to say I'm unsubscribing. Too many low-effort posts like this, with inaccuracies and false statements.

Re: Taito’s classic Darius soundtrack on vinyl (and... - Tiny Cartridge 3DS - Nintendo 3DS, DS, Wii U, and PS Vita News, Media, Comics, & Retro Junk

I have to go with Puzzle Bobble on the Neo Geo cabs, it's a timeless classic (like many Taito games!)

Re: Restaurant Review: Bali Café

I've been here twice already and think I'm going to have to go back this weekend! Can probably be repaired. I'm selling it to a local arcade fan, but I'm putting in a proper 26" 4:3 arcade LCD, so it won't be a widescreen hackjob :)

Re: Amazon Kindle review (2010)

I'm considering buying one of these, as I recently bricked my Nook (it happens!). If someone doesn't care about indoctrination, they may be religious, or choose to follow some of Jesus' teachings, but I wouldn't consider them Christians. That's just my opinion, though -- some of those people are good friends of mine.

And no, I don't consider all Muslims to be terrorists any more than I consider all balding Lutheran men to be terrorists.

I don't believe that I'm spreading hate, as you seem to think I am. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm not being reactionary based on my run-in with a few annoying religious types yesterday. I simply took the situation as a reminder and a sort of validation, and I thought I'd share my opinions on the subject on my blog.

Re: Dustin Deckard.

I did the same thing in high school - it shocked the nurse. I don't think she'd ever had anyone actually tell her the truth like that before. She even offered to note me in the system as simply having too much iron in my blood so that "if you change your mind, you can still come back and donate." I was like... "Wait, what? I'm not going to change my mind. I'm gay. Hopefully the Red Cross will change THEIR mind."

Re: F@#% Yeah Gaming - What is a man? (a reply)

PJ, while I completely appreciate your point of view, not to mention value it greatly, I think you are having a hard time seeing this from a gay perspective (which is... you know... understandable. Unless you've switched teams and didn't tell me)

Gays need to be heard and stand out because they have been silenced and buried for centuries. Gays need to be heard because organizations like the Mormon church spend millions of dollars to gag us. Gays need to stand out because for too long, they have instead chosen to hide themselves away, and thus suffering without cause.

As someone who has been known to be a fan of radicalism, I absolutely think that the time is NOW to stand up and tell the world that "we are here, we are queer" and nothing that you do or say is going to change the fact that we are human beings just like the rest of you. The time of waiting around for people to recognize us has come and gone. Too many queers have died, too many names have been called, and too many youths have chosen to end their life, rather than live it.

Gays need to be heard and stand out because it's time to DEMAND our rights as citizens of the United States of America.

But being heard and standing out can be accomplished any number of ways, and as my post indicates, I'm much in favor of "standing out" by simply... blending in? I say that at the risk of being misquoted and taken out of context.

What I mean is what I've already stated: that the traditional way of proving that you are a good person is more than adequate for proving that gay people across the world deserve to be treated no differently than straight people simply because their sexual orientation is a minority.

Re: What it means to be gay.

Actually, being left-handed WAS hated, for centuries, even. Left-handed people were frequently stoned to death (thought to be inhabited by demons), or more commonly just tortured until they learned to use their right hands like "normal" people.

So I'm glad you brought that up.

Left-handed people didn't win the war on hate and prejudice by "giving in" and pretending to be right-handed. And so, I am not saying that gay people should act like straight people. They won their equality by proving that they were human beings, just like right-handed people, and there was nothing *wrong* about being left-handed.

Thanks for your comment.

Re: What it means to be gay.

Thanks for this very thought-provoking comment, Davie.

Although I'm not sure how it's possible, I actually agree with you quite a bit on everything you said, while still holding onto my stated beliefs in the above post.

Growing up in a place similar to the South (small-town conservative Kansas), I didn't really have a community to provide me with support. I suppose that played a big role in how I developed these feelings and beliefs about the gay rights movement. Coming out was hard for me, as I'm sure it was for you. I got shoved around, one of my best friends punched me, I was nearly driven off of the road once, my boyfriend's car was shot at, etc.

By the time I was out to all of my friends and all of my family, as well as anyone who wanted to know, I had already established my sense of belonging in the world and didn't need the gay bars or any piece of advice from a wise old drag queen to get me though the day.

That probably came off as sounding cynical and maybe even downright mean, but I certainly don't mean for it to.

I guess what I'm saying is that because of the way I came out and because of the choices I've made along the way, I have a sort of resentment for a lot of gay culture.

It doesn't mean that I don't like anyone who is flamboyant - hell, I've been out with some of the biggest, loudest gays on the planet - it just means that growing up hearing all of my "friends" yell "FAG" at every queen they saw made me think, "why do they do that to themselves? Why can't they just act normal?"

Thanks again for your comment. It really put some things in perspective for me that I'll have to think about. Because you are absolutely right - without a sense of community, how's a gay supposed to come out of the closet? Although I could of course argue that we're finally reaching a time when gay-straight alliances are everywhere, and society is finally just tolerant enough for people to feel confident coming out all on their own.

Re: What it means to be gay.

Thank you, Hannah!

Re: What it means to be gay.

And I've been *wishing* someone would say this to my face for years, just so I could go "Yep, I totally agree." :)

Thanks for the compliment, PJ.

Re: Dustin Deckard.

Good plan.

Re: Dustin Deckard.

Yes, being of the homosexual variety *does* have it's perks.

Namely being able to talk about, enjoy, and appreciate boobs without ever having to deal with those messy vaginas.

Gays:1
Straights:0

Re: Dustin Deckard.

Haha, no merch. :-p Just photo shoots and videos.
