I would be interested to see a retelling of the V'ger story line from The Motion Picture. Voyager is still out there and that story still has to happen. The Voyage Home story still has to happen as well. Those stories would probably be better told on TV at this point though.

A true sequel to Aliens, where Hicks and Newt live, is all I really wanted. That was done in comic book form 20+ years ago. You don't have to explain away 3 and resurrection. Just make the movie that should have been.

I wasn't a big fan of Orci directing. Bringing in Frakes seems to be the only logical choice. He has the knowledge of what it takes to make a Trek movie. He's a fan favorite. Just get it done.

I agree. Lets not forget that Tim Burton took on the challenge of remaking/reimagining the original film and failed miserably. What happens in the 2000 years leading to that is much more interesting to me.

Doesn't some of the responsibility for this problem fall on the carriers? Each carrier has to have their own version of each phone Samsung makes. That leads to multiple versions of the exact same device with only minor difference between them. That never made sense.

Most of the general public doesn't understand aspect ratios. What really bothers me is when I see people watching a 4:3 image stretched to 16:9 on their television. When I point that out the standard complaint is "they don't like black bars!"

I'm with you. Paying $15+ to see a film that they can't project correctly is unacceptable.

Right. But what's to say Obi-Wan didn't leave something out there buried in the desert for someone to find. There is nothing in the "official cannon" to contradict that idea.

The "Luke's hand in space" part is lame. I'm just not buying it. I would bet on something to do with Obi-Wan and them heading off to find Luke. Han not flying around in the Falcon? That's stupid too. If Han is piloting the ship isn't he technically also flying it? I have to believe Abrams and Kasdan came up with something better than that.

Pushing the reset button on the EU is probably the best option here. After 25 yeast how much more story can they tell? I stopped reading them about half way through the New Jedi Order series. It just seemed to me that they were trying too hard to introduce a conflict after they had exhausted the Imperial Remnant stories.

Pull in some of the best characters (Mara Jade) and go in a different direction.

My 5 - 11 year old self really wants to see a bad ass Luke Lightsaber fight! My current self remembers what happened with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and fears that exact scenario. I just want this movie to be awesome!
