My sister and I were raised by my single mother who worked more than she was with us. But when she was with us, she made sure she taught us well and showered us with love and care both physically and emotionally. It was just us two living with my single mother. I woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare and just as all little ones do they run to mommy and daddy's room for security. I couldnt find mommy so I checked in the rest of the house and when I realized she wasnt there I tell you that was the most frightened I have ever been in my life! I can still remember the terror as an adult. I woke my twin sister up and we were both screaming and crying all the way to our nieghbors house in the dead of night. I banged on thier door as hard as a little 4 year old fist could at the same time holding onto my sister as tightly as I could. Thank God they were a nice elderly couple. We didnt know them but obviously they knew we belonged to their nieghbor. It was moments later that our mother came home and they reunited us with her. I can vaguely remember mom making a hasty exit with us back home with the excuse that she just stepped out to get some gas and ciggeretts! Its weird because our mother was a great mom and especially being a single mother at that. She just did a really bone head thing. I still shake my head at something like that. Why in the world do these dumb mothers and fathers cant think about the damage they do to thier little ones? I can really relate to those poor poor little babies crying out in terror in that parking lot! Poor sweet little lambs.
