170 room lodge and conference building? Absurd.

Adams can't even sustain a Diner in the downtown for more then a few months at a time. People are going to pay to stay there, why?

Camping trails make sense. Use as an outdoor park, a good campground would be a natural compliment. But, just because you stick a lodge up on a hill doesn't mean you generate business.

The underlying problem is there is no economic infrastructure to replace the lost manufacturing jobs. And, those are not returning any time soon. Cooperative business models and grants to micro business owners to reestablish the downtown would be workable models. These grand scale plans with no underlying foundation for support are just stupid.

And, a desecration to the land.

But, it isn't surprising people don't understand the real value of the Glenn. They don't use it. If they spent an evening up there moonlight cross country skiing or taking a walk through the woods filled with fireflies reminiscent of a mid-summer's nights dream, they might get a clue.

So sad.

Insanity. Stand your ground is so subjective that all the defense has to prove is that the person could possibly feel threatened enough to defend himself/herself. SInce feeling is subjective and no one can really know how another person is feeling and what is enough to provoke them to feel a need for self defense, any situation where there is even the slightest provocation can become grounds for murder. I can't believe that this law was ever passed. I hope that the defense does use Stand Your Ground in this case, as it needs extreme examples such as this to get it through peoples' thick, thick, thick skulls that it MUST be overturned.

Humans are NOT superior to animals, we only think we are superior and thus entitled to take and walk all over the rest of the world and its inhabitants. We are mammals. We are animals. If we lost this attitude, it would transform our world.

Blaming the victim. It is ingrained in our media and political culture. The level of misogyny is so high that we often don't even notice it in reporting and conversation. The fear of violence and starvation that family faced required a compassionate understanding of circumstance and empathy for the plight of vulnerable and impoverished women. Our media contrives story on emotionalism and division. It is not surprising they approached it in this way.

That's right. Who cares about the woman and the emotional and physical effects on her carrying a pregnancy to term that she can't keep? She should just be a surrogate for those who have the money and resources that she doesn't and relinquish her child. Poor women don't deserve assistance and help raising their children as these anti-choice people want to gut every program that provides any assistance, they should just hand over their off spring to the haves. It is a very easy issue to puff ones feathers up and claim compassion. The real life circumstances and realities for women and children don't factor into the equation, only the high and mighty judgement of people without a clue what the reality means to women.

If you go on the website Experience Project, the I Live in a Sexless Marriage Group is by FAR the largest on the entire site. I lived in this situation, and it is torture. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever again. None of the stories out of the thousands ever have happy endings. The best that seems to happen is the relationship ends and the sexless person finds someone who wants physical intimacy in their life. If someone doesn't want sex, that is their right, but no person should expect sexual fidelity from someone they won't touch (which is what most spouses in sexless marriages seem to want. Forced celibacy). It is very difficult because often there are children involved and the spouse's may love each other, but can't have a physical relationship. And, women often DO want sex and their spouse's won't have it with them. It is a total deal breaker. If you are a sexual being with someone who isn't, forget fixing it. They don't change.

You have ZERO idea what you are talking about....I lived this, it is hell, and it is NOT the person who desires the sex who is the problem. The problem resides with the individual who can't maintain a physically intimate relationship with their partner. It doesn't matter WHAT you do. Nothing works. Not bringing it up and trying to be a perfect partner gets taken as acceptance of the situation. Trying to talk about it is viewed as nagging. Suggesting counseling rarely works and even if you go, it doesn't increase the sex (tried it). Candles, romance, trying to increase emotional connection, begging, pleading, crying, silence, NOTHING works. It is psychological, it has NOTHING to do with technique. I gained weight. I thought that was it. I lost weight and got in the best shape of my life. NO DIFFERENCE. Ultimately, what most people in this situation realize is that their choice is to stay in a sexless relationship and suppress their own needs or leave. A lot of people use sexual denial as a form of control, and often they have SEVERE issues around intimacy. Anyone reading this...do NOT blame yourself. You can't fix it, it is their issue.

Unwanted seduction? Ok. I get the physical and alcohol/drug component of this article and research which is 25% of the what the constitute as coercion. The rest of it sounds as if the person didn't have a good sense of their own boundaries and went along with an experience that they weren't really ready for....This occurs with men and women. I see that men may also be going along with sex that they don't feel ready for or want, and I think that is a shame. Having sex you regret is different then sex that is truly coerced. And, it didn't effect their self esteem? This study is odd.

The man has exceeded Bush in hubris and abuse of executive power. He claimed the right to detain and kill American citizens without trial or charges. He repeatedly defaults to his corporate sponsors. He just signed a bill overriding the courts ability to stop Monsanto from spreading the GMO crops throughout the land. He appointed one of the architects of the Wall St crisis as his Treasury Secretary. He is an abomination. He exposed himself when he appointed his first cabinet. A clever coup that a more brave and honest people would have seen through before the election when he championed the Bush/Paulson bailout plan. This doesn't even bring in his use of drones, his total failure to prosecute the Bush administration's war crimes. Nor his indoctrinating the Bush doctrine into set American policy. Really, The Altantic? Why this pretend feigned headline of surprise? Obama is an extension of Bush, he just gets to cater to the more liberal social issues that don't cost the corporate leeches and mega-billionaires an ounce of their power. Obvious beyond obvious.

If you train for jobs that do not exist, you won't get a job. And, the problem isn't that everyone should train for healthcare or tech. The problem is that our economy is BROKEN and it does not exist to serve the people rather the people exist to serve it and create wealth for a very few. We need to totally reexamine how we envision our society from distribution of wealth to values beyond consumerism and consumption. The solution isn't to make more stuff we don't need or strip the earth of more resources to create temporary employment, it requires a total rethink. Unfortunately, our society tends to value people by how much money they earn and how much wealth they create. Not much room for anything else. I see very little in any main stream media source about imagining a different life where we can all have a place. We need to broaden our vision way beyond the material and think about how we can all create community where everyone's talents contribute to a better quality of life for EVERYONE, including the worker. Yeah, I know. How radical!

So, these forms of contraception they 'religiously object' to providing yet they don't object to investing in the pharmaceutical companies that produce them. Interesting, I am against war, the subsidizing of the carbon polluting energy companies, and a zillion other policies in a deep and sincere way. I can't not pay taxes on those beliefs, why should a corporation be allowed to pick and choose. We would be put in jail, if we withheld our taxes on religious grounds. Maybe, we should use the law to boycott funding drone operations and the prison industrial complex. Fascinating that these moral objections always focus on women's reproductive care access and never around the military industrial complex and our war mongering. These 'Christians' always seem to vote and donate to the most radical of the war mongers yet pretend they are some type of champions of life when it comes to birth control and abortion. Yeah. Right.

Fascinating...I didn't realize the stone tablet with THOU SHALL NOT KILL had so many exceptions. Justifying killing in the name of God is one of the most dangerous premises any individual or nation can take. Claiming ultimate authority on a deity and abdicating all personal responsibility. Sounds like he needs to have his weapons taken away and have a nice long stay in a skilled care unit.
