It was not merely a gathering of people in rainbow outfits. When we post the record on www.RecordSetter.com, we'll add clear rules to differentiate it from gay pride parades, Carnival in Brazil, etc.

Re: Photos: Here's What A $1,500 Kickstarter-Funded Rainbow Parade Looks Like: Gothamist

Christopher: RecordSetter is built on a philosophy that everyone can be the world's best at something. Our site hosts over 15,000 world records uploaded from more than 65 countries, the largest collection of world record videos on the Internet. People often refer to us as the Wikipedia to Guinness' Encyclopedia Britannica.

We welcome all submissions as long as they're quantifiable, breakable and include media evidence of the claim. It's our model to never judge categories, meaning submissions like Longest Toenail Clipping on a Subway or Most Police Cars Parked in a Bike Lane would in fact be acceptable as long as evidence was submitted.

Before Wikipedia, most would have argued that the likes of Khloe Kardashian, Carrot Top, Beanie Babies, Gothamist, etc. had no right being encyclopedia entries. Today, we live in a world in which the Internet allows us to classify all of this information and beyond. We're continuing on the same path with RecordSetter, creating a video database of human achievement for others to watch, edit and/or engage with.

I was part of Saturday's parade, and had an extraordinarily fun time. If you do go ahead and decide to smoke cigarettes through a fish's eye, I look forward to seeing your submission, though I'd hope you could think of something a little more worthy.

Dan Rollman
President/Co-Founder, RecordSetter
www.RecordSetter.com

Re: Inventors and Entrepreneurs

Great read. We're doing everything we can to keep up with your submission pace, but as you can tell, we're a bit behind. As we get you further engaged with adjudication, things will move at a much more rapid pace. Our mission is to continue improving this site for our community. We're doing everything we can to build the true home of human achievement. As part of this journey, doing partnerships with brands like JetBlue will help us get there.

Personally speaking, for what it's worth, I think we created some really fun new categories as part of the JetBlue event: Tallest Soda Can Tower Built In 30 Seconds, Longest Single-Breath Flight Announcement, etc. I'm a fan of the records that were set, and hope people in our community will step up to challenge them.

Keep comments like this coming, and let us know if/when you think we're wandering too far off the track. We're always open to hearing your thoughts. dr

Re: World Record: Longest Time To Balance A Great Canadian Midway Inflatable Hammer On Index Finger - Isiah Kowcun

Hot jam. Do we insist on credentialed witnesses? Outsource it to a service like Mechanical Turk? Require the current record holder to count/approve it? Would love to hear ideas.

Re: World Record: Tallest Soda Can Tower - Liam Atkinson

Looks legit, but I wish it was on video like the previous record holder.
