Don't think so...I don't mind Dr. Holbert taking the tack that he is,
but before suggesting that someone is blinded by the light- perhaps
consider that the implication of the Hebrew may in fact not be what
you'd like to infer it to be. Get into the roots of the prophets
ministry, realize, we today haven't a clue, so it's way beyond
presumptuous to think we might climb into those shoes, we do have the
obvious meanings of the words, and those meanings change relatively
little over time. The idea of God communicating to His prophet via a
voice which wouldn't be frightening ought to be considered as possible.

Its good that you appreciate Dr. Holbert's work, its not hard for me to also consider the thoughts inherit in it, are you familiar with Erickson, Millard J.?

If you dismiss every proof beyond that point, but that's hardly the case, the Bible is very exacting in how the man Moses responded to the bush that wasn't consumed by the fire?

1 Kings 19:12 - where do you get silence? "qol" Strong's 6962b - has always been associate to a sound, a voice, which is what I take this passage to be indicative of? Being still, for us, leads to us finally hearing God- which, one must presume, you've had the experience of? That God is God, therefore beyond anything we can ever hope to imagine- doesn't give me a problem, that God would punish, seems even a logical outpouring of love- no infant out of control in a store is a pleasure to the adults in the scene? We have a problem with this passage today because we have gone too far in assigning our own attributes to God, and not near far enough onto our knees to understand the God will explain Himself to us, when He chooses to, and such is never anything less than love- for Jesus sake, we serve God, not the other way around.

Pazz1972 I was with ya 'til you went ...dogma...then it all went into the black hole. It'll come out some day when the Patriot Act says it's ok to play again...meanwhile- why does light hover in a constant path and yet slightly degrade at the threshold of the black hole?

Chris while I understand your writings my view is more historical and more along the lines of the big picture of early Jobs when Wozniak was fundamental to the success of that company, and yet, after much success was put into a situation where he chose the back burner and educating young folks to working with Steve? Now many hears hence Mr., Wozniak returns, iPad, iPhone, etc. etc. I think too much attention is given to this type A "wuderkind" and not enough respect to the brilliance of his people- NOW, who would be at fault for a persona such as that? One thing I've always liked about you Chris is that you leave the big ego outside the door like the wolf...a good place for it, I don't know that Jobs ever did that.

Chris you keep us informed, and that's precious, the move toward decentralized or app based social media is a wonderful thing; especially as Facebook is now starting to move to rules based management for their nation. Chase love everything you said - EXCEPT- take a minor exception to the bit about the rich- the truly wealthy are usually far more loved than hated? The false wealthy, that is those who have acquired their wealth by leaving the tombstones of their supposedly lesser foes behind them; are usually, rightfully, despised as the pirate souled sorry representatives of humans being that they are.
