Getting caught up on this comic and this page just hit me in the gut, man. A lot of commenters seem to think either that Violet lying (or bending the truth) or that Bina is incapable of love. However, as someone who's struggled with self-loathing and depression for a long time, the thoughts that Violet accuses Bina of having here are very familiar. I've resented friends for being happy or confident because I feel like I will never get there. I've questioned whether I actually like my friends or maybe I'm just using them because I'm selfish. I've been convinced that I would do any number of horrible things and overall felt like I was hiding the deep, dark secret at I am a monster. I've also been in a place where I am incapable of feeling anything at all. Hearing those thoughts verbalized by a mind reader as the truth of who I am...I'd probably have the same reaction as Bina.

Ultimately, I don't know how this story will turn out or where Magnolia is going with all this (though I'm sure it'll be somewhere awesome). I just want to float the idea that Violet could be making an accurate recitation of what Bina thinks AND that those thoughts do not actually reflect who Bina is as a person.

Awww, Robert. That was sweet...in a disturbing kind of way. Also, this talk about curses gives me a new, half-baked theory about Mona and why she's immune to being assimilated by living flesh mounds.

This page is a wealth of wonderful. IRL Vision! Piranha 3D the Musical! COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG (with Eustace getting gloriously beheaded)! Plus some very interesting world building. I love that the undead look very different from each other. We have everything from completely normal to truly horrifying. Undead unite!

I think your original interpretation still stands, frankly. Mona's parent dresses in women's clothing, yes, but now they are dressing in the dead mom's clothes, probably for the very reasons you identified in the previous version. The only change is that now there's the distinction that dressing in mom's clothes, not dressing in women's clothes in general, is how Mona's parent is handling (or not handling) their grief.

Mona is about to have a mental break, I feel. Also, OMG Fluffy is the cutest :D

With that out of the way, here's my theorizing: I think Mona is the same as Danish Hair (whatever that is). DH appears to have a working relationship with Dogman and is recognized by other monsters as different (sleepless one, etc.). Mona is recognized as different (wrong) by this monster, and I still think Fluffy is genuinely concerned about her and not just trying to save his own hide.

This is exactly what I was thinking re-reading the archives recently. The monster had plenty of opportunities to kill Mona. She is, after all, a very small, scared girl and he is a large, intelligent-seeming monster with pointy teeth. He got into her house and didn't attack her, instead just tried to keep her there. He could have pounced on Mona when she got outside, but pounced on the kids "threatening" her instead. He also knew where she was in this big house, walking around alone and undefended, but he continued to watch from a distance, only hurting the things that threatened her. If he is waiting for a chance to kill her himself, he's certainly passed up several prime opportunities. That just doesn't seem like something Fluffy would do, considering what we've seen of his intelligence and competence against other opponents. I agree with you and think Fluffy genuinely wants to protect Mona.

Poor girl. While I'm sure Takashi is way more interesting than any friend she might have made there, it's still sad that her father is neglecting her and she's apparently an outcast in school.

Gorgeous artwork again. I love the little girl's eyes; they practically glow! I'm also very interested to find out why she's speaking Japanese and where this plot is going.

Such a beautiful little girl (and such beautiful artwork!!). I agree with Cyrik, this might be bad timing to be coming out with Japanese in particular. Especially since her dad looks like he's military.

I am soooo excited that Sarah Ellerton is doing this comic. I've been following both her and Bobby for a long time now and I love them both.
