Hey Rob, thanks for the review.
I'm the product chief of Wally and I just want to assure you that we're already working on all the missing features you mentioned, like repeating payments (e.g. monthly bills), future payments (with push reminders) and a whole lot of other cool stuff like adding income, budgeting and savings while still keeping it very simple and minimal.

Receipt-scanning is something that will gradually improve over time as we learn from users and improve our algorithms, this bit is hard to figure out in a perfect way for all sorts of receipts and countries but we'll get there over time.

True, Jobs was an immense factor in the magic of Apple events, but also the fact that almost every detail is getting leaked beforehand is robbing the events of the mystery and surprise part.I guess that's the price to pay for being the most-watched company in the world.

I'm not saying social is bad, it's very good and sometimes it's more than great...
But when it comes to businesses making money from social, it just doesn't work, yet.

The amount of investment put into social media by some of the biggest brands massively outweighs the results, even in the most optimistic estimates, and I speak from experience without naming those brands.

I've wrote a draft that does the math on a hypothetical social media campaign, hope I can clean it and post it in a couple of days.

Agree Ramy, and I think in a year or 2 we will see a wave of burnt-out entrepreneurs who were led into this path by this mis-represented view.

This is exactly my point!
The media is always depicting a rosy view of entrepreneurship and people go into it thinking it's all freedom, excitement and riches. They have no idea of what they need to do to just stay alive, let alone get rich.

Making it a bit difficult to weed out non-serious applicants is different from turning it into a university application or applying for a job at Google!!
And it doesn't stop here, their atitude towards applicants and the registration process speak of unneeded arrogance, they make people feel like only the elite will get selected and the rest are pretty much worthless...
And it's not only me, I heard that from a large number of people but they're too "politically correct" to speak out about that.

First, I'm not in favor of the idea because I believe that our kids are already plugged-in online to unhealthy level, and this idea takes one of the remaining offline parents/kids interactions, and move it online.

Second, the demo looked good (design-wise) but it wasn't noteworthy compared to other startups (You-Pick, 1001inventions, etc.).

The best part about the startup was the cute demo with the puppet and I think this is what really caught the attention of the judges and won them over.

Again, all of the above is my opinion.

It was a solid idea/demo but the winning ideas were either more practical or had more impressive demos.

Agree, the real purpose here is to turn ideas into working prototypes, and a mediocre idea that works wins over a great idea that's locked in slides.You guys delivered one of the best working ideas, and you were one of my picks for the best startup, hope you keep it going and take it further.
