Hear, hear. This has been driving me insane lately. One recent show I sadly spent watching through the 6-inch phablet screen of some Northface bro in front of me.

At another, a woman repeatedly tried taking shots of Father John Misty with her flash on.

It is confusing that Instagram is only now being added as part of the formula for a Klout score since users have been able to link Instagram to their Klout accounts for months. What has that link been doing all this time if not impacting scores? What other connected accounts are not part of the Klout score?

A few years ago this would have read "the case lacked sufficient verification and should not have been included in the article." Interesting that this correction is so casual about mentioning that something was "removed," the implication, I guess, being that the article is a living, breathing entity online (never mind the page number that is included).

While there are many reasons to want to see the URL go away, nothing bigger is up here. ISPs have known about IPv6 for more than and a decade, and we are still on IPv4. Removing the file system from the Internet might take another decade. And Apple, not Google, is the company hellbent on killing the file system.

Oh, and it's not supposed to be foodie-focused necessarily. More like Minnesota-focused. Or Doug-focused. My other blogging attempts have largely been news and tech focused. And no one really gives a shit what I think of the news. I'm hoping to fill this up with tales of my actual exploits. Which no one gives a shit about either, but at least it's personal.

Now it makes sense. On futher inspection, this is talking about Facebook Pages specifically. So you can now like an FB page without having ever visited that page. Liking the TechCrunch FB page, for example, is probably more valuable than liking techcrunch.com, since TC can push updates to your stream if you like their FB page, but not if you like techcrunch.com.

The like and share counts are already the same so even if you perceive the two as separate actions, it's pretty clear Facebook doesn't. There's no reason, therefore, to continue the share buttons. Though I suspect they won't outright kill them, and will let people choose which they put on their sites. Killing them would just result in a bunch of dead share buttons all over the web -- call it button rot.
