I find him similar to Eisenhower. If the GOP wanted to return to the "party of Lincoln," they could do no better than Col. Wilkerson.

Re: Mystery death of phone hacking reporter

Of course, it was just a very "macabre coincidence," said Salem to his view screen....

Re: Bahrain and the Democratic Uprising

All over the world people are realizing (often because of austerity forced on them , while the elite plunder their land) that they are oppressed. They desperately desire their autonomy. The U.S. (always involved) attempts through propaganda and force to increase their control, usually by misdirection. The U.S. is motivated entirely by corporate rulers who insist on enslaving everyone through Capitalism, not Democracy. Amazingly, the people in the U.S. are treated worse than most of these other populations. Our only "saving grace" is the illusion of prosperity that remains from before corporate rule. We (U.S.) have the most unequal distribution of wealth in the world. Our citizens who have jobs, earn approximately 1 / 300th of what their average C.E.O. "earns." We are the only industrialized nation that does not have universal healthcare for American citizens. America has become a very unfair corporate entity whose only export is militarism. We are the reason that actual Democracy does not exist in most countries. We have become "Rome on steroids" for the new millennia. Until Americans rise up and demand an end to corporate control and an actual Democratic society, free of propaganda, the citizens worldwide will continue to suffer. The facade that America of old built, will crumble due to the corporate governments neglect of its own citizens while in pursuit of cheap labor and hegemony throughout the world. IMO, the fate of the world is disturbingly, in the hands of the citizens of North America and their ability to gain control of their government. In order to achieve any progress, Americans must overcome their apathy, fear and ignorance of what a society should be.
There was a time when nations looked to America as an example of what a society should strive for. That time has long passed. Now, the world looks to America as an example of what a corporate empire can do to its citizens. Our founders realized and stressed the importance of Progressive ideas. That is the reason they called our country's Constitution "a living document." Our Constitution even decisively informs us of what to do in case tyrants take over our country. When a citizenry is actually ruled by less than 10% of its population, tyranny has taken the reigns of government.

Re: my sisters cancer

I am by no means, a website builder. Thankfully this site (Yola) has a lot of "widgets", that really help when it comes to adding content and capabilities to your site. It IS interesting, but I do not want to build a website on a regular basis. I would build one every day if I thought it would help Debbie get cured of this treatable cancer with her dignity and her nose in place.
Most of all, I want to thank you, the average people who are helping me, help her. Besides my love for my siblings, I feel compelled to do anything in my power to assist my Sister.
I go to (mainly) Progressive websites daily and I often blog about "our" refusal to recognize a persons health as a fundamental right. So here starts my attempt to make a difference.
While it IS all about Debbie, most of this site will be filtered through the eyes of her little ( 50 y.o.) brother.

Re: Chomsky: I would have ‘held my nose’ to pass health care

I have not viewed Dr. Chomsky in that light. I have usually agreed with his observations and reccommendations. IMO, he is one of the few National Treasures, when it comes to civil rights, that we have left. Although, I did not agree with this bill and find it to be more of an insurance co. give-a-way than an actual reform for health care. Sometimes (and it is hard), I find that I must have faith in someone other than myself. Dr. Chomsky is a person that I have faith in. Although he is not in Congress, IF things happen the way he believes they might, (alot of qualifiers I know) then we will eventually get the Single Payer that most Americans want. Before I read his comments, I was pissed that the bill had passed without the guarantees for the people that it so badly needs. I can see the need to start somewhere, but this was not the start I had hoped for. Dr. Chomsky is a brlliant, man of the people. I pray that his vision becomes reality.

Re: Afghanistan Alert: Robert Greenwald Witnesses Security in Kabul

I believe that Americans would overwhelmingly agree that prosecuting the Bush administration is a much higher prioirty than wasting billions more, killing and displacing innocent people. Haven't the war profiteers been given enough blood money? People before profits! Out dated thinking is what has brought our country to its knees. Peace and knowledge are the only salvation left to us.

Re: Afghanistan Alert: Robert Greenwald Witnesses Security in Kabul

If we are to show the world that America has changed, then it is imperative to not proceed with this "war." Also, besides the human tragedy, it is not economically viable. Every nation in history, that has attempted to invade and occupy Afghanistan, has been economically destroyed by their attempt. President Obama; there are other ways to change this country without further sacrificing our once proud stature. Further, I know that if you are using 9-11 as an excuse, then you should (and must) have a real examination and public investigation, not a political one, into what really transpired to let 9-11 happen. No one believes in that many consequences happening on the same day with 9-11 as the result. We do not live in Disneyland.
