I have to admit, I've thought a bit about the roles of women within the green movement and wondered if the whole "Earth Mama" role wasn't a bit of wishful thinking that women would return to 24/7 child care, always be smiling, doing yoga and growing things. However, in modern society there is absolutely room for men to share responsibility in the areas of child care, home cooking and general work around the house. I don't see how the green movement hinders that equality in any way. I agree that as we move forward toward more sustainable lifestyles, we should keep an eye out for sexism in society as a whole but there's no need to blame the environmental movement for keeping women down.

Re: EcoPeek: Win a PaPaYa Love water bottle!

What a fun giveaway! I've been searching for a BPA free bottle ever since I found out that my 3 year old Sigg bottle was potentially harmful. I will definitely check out PaPaYa Art - it looks so cool!

Re: AVATARgate: Blogger Unveils Secret Socialist/Environmentalist Plot to Make People Care About Others

Thanks for this great post Chris! I totally agree that it's absurd to lump environmentalists together as "people who don't want to see humans succeed". As a human, I'm very concerned with the continued survival of my fellow humans and I see the sustainable management of resources as the only way to keep us healthy and prosperous!

Re: Organic Nation TV Finishes East Coast Tour

Thanks for this great post Sara!
