Jacques' great-grandfather was a founder of the Montreal Chambre de Commerce and his grandfather was a doctor of renown and aChevalier of the Legion d’honneur" from Wikipedia…Parizeau did not himself come from the " Québec né pour un petit pain — born to lose, to be ripped off by those in power … namely, the Anglo-Protestant elite which viewed the francophone majority with paternalistic contempt." When he left politics he spent a goodly portion of his life at his estate in France, tending to his vineyard. Not inconsequential information in my estimation.

Re: Soupe Soup Restaurant

My (adult) daughter, good dog + I passed Soupe Soupe. A young couple + their dog were sitting outside SS having a lovely meal. As it was lunch time, I went inside + asked the young man behind the counter if we too, could have a table outside as we also had a dog with us. He referred me to another man who said no. It was going to rain and he couldn't just take another table outside, blahblahblah. So I said okay, okay + we left. I live 2 blocks away + I figured we'll just have lunch at home. But you know, it would have taken all of 3 seconds to bring a little table + 2 chairs outside. Three + a half hrs have passed + it still hasn't rained. We did have a nice lunch at home but the young man's inconsistent attitude rankles me. I've eaten at SS before but I never will again. My daughter who studied Hotel Management said when someone is happy with a place they tell five people. When someone is unhappy with a place, they tell twenty people.
