I watched it yesterday with subs and it was even stupider than I thought. How Mama Li was just suddenly best friends with the Tao family and Huan Huan had an epiphany after all that time. Yeah, right. I was totally on Lance's side when he thought they were pitying him. At least they brought the alter ego of Aaron's back in the final scene if nothing else.

Did anyone else think that Aaron looked rather bored and fed up when they opened the church doors when they had the bride and groom enter? lol

I didn't watch the entire thing raw and, obviously, I didn't understand a word, but, from what I understand, it was Huan Huan that gave back the ring and told them to get married and was happily clapping at the ceremony together with Mama Lu and Lance left but sent Tian Xing a postcard from wherever he was. And everyone acted like nothing ever happened and they were all the best of friends. Just like that bit*h from Just You that also got a happy ending together with that bloke that also schemed with her, Jerry I believe, for whatever reason...

But we did get a lot of pretty Aaron in tux at the end and the ending scene was totally cute when they went on honeymoon. Will wait for subs to see what exactly happened apart from the obvious ;)

Moj fant je na Zavodu, ker je pravkar končal študij in še nima službe, pa mi na veliko pripoveduje o mladih, ki hodijo samo tja zato, da bi še naprej vlekli socialko in nič delali. Torej tako črno-belo ni vse skupaj, saj so starejši vajeni poprijeti za vsako delo, za katerega se marsikomu mlajšemu danes "ne da", ker bi vsi imeli 2000+ EUR začetne neto plače, avto, hišo in psa, brez da bi mignili s prstom. Pa pri tem ne mislim svoje generacije, ampak mi pripovedujejo prijatelji, ki delajo v šolstvu.

Pa tudi, če delajo sami. Mi si moramo vsak mesec sami zaslužiti za prispevke, DDV, dohodnino in druge dajatve, pa nas nihče ne vpraša, ali imamo ali nimamo, ko pride 15. moraš plačati (seveda ne vsi, ampak na osnovi nekaterih nima smisla posploševati). Torej plačujemo v državni proračun in nekaj ustvarjamo. Meni je pa je mama celo zagotovila delovno mesto, ki mi ga drugače nihče ni dal, danes pa sem uspešna in v firmo prispevam več kot ona, kar je bil tudi namen.

Tako je naredila moja mama, ko nisem dobila službe, je zaposlila mene, in zdaj najina firma dobro stoji, meni pa teče delovna doba, vsak mesec do dneva točno plačam vse prispevke, davke, DDV, mama plača še nekaj dohodnine, ker še dela, in to je to. In jaz osebno sem resnično hvaležna ravno zato, ker ima ona že 40+ let delovnih izkušenj in vse to znanje prenaša name, ki ga drugače ne bi mogla nikjer dobiti. In gotovo je takih mam in očetov še vsaj nekaj.

No, to je pa res super, moja mama, ki je obdržala svoj s.p., ko je šla v penzijo, zato da lahko še naprej dela in da sva ga imeli skupaj, ne da bi plačevali stroške za dva s.p.-ja, ko sem začela delati, bo zdaj morala vračati tisto borno penzijo, ki jo dobiva vsa ta leta. Plačevanje dohodnine mi je bilo razumljivo, tole je pa čisti absurd...moja mama rada dela, rada še zasluži kak evro, zdaj pa bo kaznovana za to. In pred leti, ko nisem dobila službe, me je zaposlila, zato imam lahko danes 8 let delovne dobe. Torej je poskrbela za delovno mesto :)

I know this is OT, but if anyone is looking for a, at least imo, really good Taiwanese drama, check out The Way We Were. Three episodes have aired so far and the main leads are Ruby Lin and Leroy Young. It's quite refreshing compared to other T-dramas :)

Well, if nothing else, at least Aaron kisses his female counterparts properly :) In K-drama (unless it's cable) you are lucky to get small pecks on the mouth, if it's a full-blown kiss, you almost fall off your chair :D Glad the "trauma" seems to be ending in a few days although I honestly cannot fathom how they got the happy ending so fast. Even though I love the fact that Taiwanese dramas always end with a wedding (which I enjoy as you get to see beautiful gowns and tuxes on beautiful people :) it can sometimes feel so forced and contrived that not even the pretty can help lol.

I really hope the next one is better though. I already struggled through Deja vu and Love Around (because I loved Love, Now) that both also started off well but then went down the drain pretty quickly so I only check this one here and there because I like Aaron (I enjoyed watching Just You). So I hope this wedding with HH turns out to be the ad, we get the typical Taiwanese wedding with the true love of his life at the end and that's it :)

I have read on the English Wikipedia that the original run was supposed to be 23 episodes. No wonder the sloppy writing (and the Sunday drama curse).

I joined the K-drama craze a few years ago after being bored over nothing on our television but have quickly become enthralled by these stories. Perhaps it also has to do with age, but I find myself preferring K-drama stories also because they show an emotional intimacy, solid foundations of a relationship, instead of all the quickies that are shown on American and other Western TV (and I have also changed that way in my own life, from preferring a physical relationship even if the relationship was based purely on that, to paying attention to things like common values, goals, trust, respect, honesty etc. that I cannot imagine not having in my current relationship). I can see so many people on pages like Viki complaining why there are not any sex scenes (except for cable shows) or make out sessions but for me the stories are endearing exactly because the viewers are left to imagine by themselves what happens off screen and can focus on the build-up of the relationship in all aspects instead. And I know in advance which cliches will most likely be used, what will happen to the second male lead, what the second female lead will be like, that one of the two leads will inevitably have amnesia out of a contrived reason and then the rest of the storylines will be rushed, that there will be most likely an evil mother-in-law involved but, as other people have already pointed out, it's all part of the charm. Perhaps they do emit that feeling of domesticity that other people can feel too. And since I love to travel and learn languages and about other cultures, it's great to be able to see how the other side of the world lives. Not to mention that I get to also mix business with pleasure when I translate subs from English to my language (being a professional translator anyway) even if I often find myself being the only person watching that specific show.

And I do agree on the statement above about American TV. Americans often complain to me about all the illegal downloading but it is really hard to explain to them that, if you live in a small European country like I do, it's not a given that you'll be able to watch American TV (or with great delays) unless you use proxies (or download). Therefore it makes me glad that Asian countries have been able to see the potential in streaming websites that promote their entertainment industry abroad. I wish European and American TV programmes were able to stop being so ignorant and instead of fighting illegal downloading, find ways for legal broadcasting through streaming websites like Viki and Dramafever and then so many people would not need to resort to trying to obtain content illegally (at least not to such an extent).

I'll gladly continue to watch mostly Asian dramas. I actually need to remember when was the last time I turned on my TV. It's been quite a while.

I just loved Ed, that show ended way too soon imo :(
