You need to disconnect the internet at the right moment to get the update. It may take you many tries before getting it right.

1. Put your phone in Airplane mode.
2. Connect your phone to the PC, Zune will be launched.
3. Go to Settings>Update, wait for few seconds and disable the internet connection on your PC.
4. It'll show "An update is available".
5. Turn on the internet connection on your PC (not on your phone) and proceed with the wizard.

Microsoft has probably suspended the updates temporarily to fix the glitch in the 7.8 update. Try again after a few days.

You may have to go through the 7.5 updates before getting the 7.8 update. Try a few more times.

Try varying the waiting time. The chances of this trick working might be high as your phone is unlocked.

You can see the changelog that has been posted in the article. This update (WP 7.8) just has a few cosmetic changes. The core functions remain the same. So, I'm afraid, the bluetooth issue remains unresolved.

You can try by varying the waiting time. Wait for 7-8 seconds and then try.

This means that you disconnected too quickly. Try again and wait for 1-2 seconds more than usual. It may take several tries before you get it right.
