I don't want you to get the idea that i'm saying it shouldn't be done
with TinyDB, just that this could be done differently.

I don't exactly think you need TinyDB to do that - you could just as well do http://quickerly.com/?song=... and have that load the song

Why don't we do both in that case?

The old style still works (but will be retired in the 2.x versions),
but the new one is recommended and that's what the documentation uses.
also, we should agree about capitalization ->system->services,
->System->services, ->system->Services, or ->System->Services? I would
go for the both lower case option, but what about others?

If you want the actual code powering the site I could give you that too. I'd have to think about putting it in the MIT or GPL - all the code that's released is released under the MIT or GPL but the site isn't released.
I haven't extensively tested it or anything, so for now I'd like to not distribute it.

Your twitter idea would work, but it would need the event queue.

Also, I'm not sure if chx would let you do this, as it would be logging the IRC channel.

I've also built a trivia bot with the Druplicon framework, and it worked out nicely. The only thing left is to iron out user authentication.

I'm talking about sending data the other way, to the IRC channel, that isn't a direct response to a message.

An example of this would be integration with http://drupalbin.com/ (see the bottom of http://pastie.org/help/). You ask Druplicon for a paste link. It PMs you a special link, which has a key, which in the database maps to a channel. Then, Druplicon polls Drupalbin to see if any links for any specific channels have been posted. If so, Drupalbin returns the post, and Druplicon shows a link in the channel.
