The mergers give the utilities and cities larger companies to purchase from but hopefully they should not cause interoperability challenges and diminish the innovative smaller companies that move the IoT revolution forward.

As noted the VPP expands on the Demand Response technologies that are now going to be more market driven. Clearly there are cyber security and privacy issues to address just as we have done in the banking business. SGIP is working on the possible use of Blockchain for its encryption benefits in the evolving Transactive Energy world. Hopefully hacking of the Smart Grid will be minimized as those that do it may suffer the reciprocal consequences.

We have the technologies that would facilitate the Transactive Energy future. It would use the benefit of storage and controls like the Transverter and its 6 relay control module that can integrate the renewables and micro chp and optimize the loads storage and time of use rates to each home owners preference and do it by your smart phone. We need a paradigm shift in the electric utility business model and the regulations as proposed in innovative jurisdictions like New York and Ontario.
