The light was the exact color that the solenoids created when Widmore zapped Desmond. I think you're expecting a little to much from people who lived (I'm guessing) 2000 years ago. The "light" is no cheesier than the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden.

It's not like Darlton personally held their heads under the water. They are trying to create a compelling story. They're showing how high the stakes are. Besides, I think there will be plenty of Sun and Jin in the Flash Sideways.

I have to second The Wire. It's the best TV show ever produced. However, I think I enjoy watching Lost more if that makes any sense.

This reminds me of the sausage-on-a-stick they served for breakfast at my high school. It was like a corn dog but, instead of a hot dog, there was a sausage link and the batter was pancake mix. Plus, they gave you syrup to dip it in. And when you ate it, it was like heaven. This effect was probably due to the temporary clogging of arteries which slowed down oxygen circulation causing a feeling of euphoria. One sausage-on-a-stick is worth about negative three months of life expectancy. Someone else will have to figure out the exchange rate for Japanese crepes.

The water to tip ratio thing must be fairly common and I'm pretty sure waiters are aware of it. Often at restaurants I have my water refilled even if it's more than half full (or empty for all the pessimists).

If you see a "No Gaijin" sign, you could always go Super Gaijin and walk right in. Afterall, how is a crazy gaijin like me supposed to know what "gaijin" means. But it's probably better not to stir the pot though.

I'd hate to start another senseless grammar war (lest we forget) but "wrong" is an adverb, adjective, noun, and verb. Isn't English wonderful?
