It would mean peple would have even less of an incentive to buy efficient appliances and things off when they're not using them, so demand would jump. And then we'd need to supplement with fossil fuels, or build even more nuclear plants, which would cost money and pollute (the construction of a tremendous industrial facility like a nuclear plant isn't exactly carbon-neutral).

So that might result in reliable profits for power generation companies, but it doesn't help the rest of us.

Re: Separate but not Equal

Many suburban school districts require teachers to stay for 30-40 minutes a few days a week for extra help, and that could be a good idea in Boston.

Re: Co-op J-Term Policy Unchanged

Therefore, it's not a scam. And $50 for a several-week class is a miniscule fraction of the cost of a class at Harvard. So what's the problem? And how is this taking advantage of anyone?

It would be nice if Harvard offered otherwise-empty classroom space to the community for stuff like this. (hint to administrators trying to create programming for J-term on a tight budget...)

By the way, some more background would have been helpful. http://www.thecrimson.com/a... says Arthur was a Winthrop House tutor in 2006.
