This is much better stated than your original post. It's a point that I can understand and appreciate even if I don't completely agree. I can tell that you cooled down a bit and reevaluated your words. Keep in mind that signing an online pledge is kind of like committing to show up at a party. If you don't show, nobody is going to get hurt and you're still friends. The difference is that this brings attention to a true disparity in our culture. Should the best and brightest always be the ones we look up to and learn from? Of course. Should we keep in mind that having positive female and multi-race role models is very important to growing as a culture and society as well? Absolutely. Cheers.

Hahaha, ok. You do realize that by calling me a "leftist idiot" you only insult yourself by pointing out the narrowness of your own perspective. As far as I am concerned the guy who wrote this article is meaningless. I came here because of a well worded tweet written by someone who's opinion I do care about. However, that all being said, I may as well finish what I started.

Brian has a point. It is actually wrong to think that there should ALWAYS be a woman who is an expert in any particular field and that they would always be more deserving as someone else. And I would listen to that perspective and appreciate it if it wasn't written as a bitter angry rant. As soon as that happens it becomes some guy vs. the women. And apparently anyone who thinks differently, no matter how well meaning their intentions are, are fucking stupid. Yeah, fuck fixing things. Fuck finding a middle ground where sexism can be addressed and we don't all go overboard. I'll just be another reactionary bitter asshole myself. You see, I don't get the feeling that Brian is actually the one who is speaking on behalf of fairness when I read his little rant. I hear an angry guy who got passed over for a woman blaming something other than himself. I could be wrong but that's the impression I get. This article stinks of petty anger and bitterness. He may have a point, but he lost it. So yeah, I messed with the guy. Sue me.
