The smell of Autumn leaves, especially those liquid amber leaves that turn such lovely colours - Yum!!! And going outside when it's still crispy cool in the morning even when it's going to be a lovely warm day and breathing in the air. Bliss.

I was wondering where you were today! It's no fun being sick. Hot lemon and honey drinks, trashy crime fiction and daytime sleeps are all helpful I think. Get better quickly but take the time out you need to get better properly, very busy lady! xx

I love the heart! I'm not big into Valentines Day, but the idea works for so many shapes. I really, really like it, and never would have thought of it myself :-) Maybe I can start my Christmas making early...?

It does sound rather busy at your place at the moment, but the work you're doing is good. I hope you're feeling better fast!

I've just finished Peter Goldworthy's Three Dog Night, of which 'dark' might be an understatement. You know those kind of books that have this undercurrent of unpleasantness that all the way through it and most of the characters? But it's done now, and I'm back onto Elizabeth George. Ah, gotta love English crime fiction!!!

I'm not joining in on the granny-ing at this stage - I do however plan to finally finish the blanket I started about 5 years ago! When you get up to joining together and edging, I might join in then. Yes, it's that close to finished - actually closer, as I just have 2 more rows of squares to attach before starting the edging, but can I find the motivation to finish it on my own?!? It's a tad boring, mind you: mainly browns with navy blue and cream, with a splash of burgundy every now and then. But even so, it'll be much better finished than in pieces in a bag!

Ahhh, the Useful Box!! We had one in our house when I was little, and I've started putting one together for my daughter. She's not quite up to that stage yet, but it's getting there! Play School has a lot of good things to take credit for!

I love how taking the time to slow cook a really yummy dinner seems to do something to re-establish equilibrium, even if it's only for a few hours. It gives me the motivation to launch back in the next day. Enjoy!

Crochet is so satisfyingly quick! I'm making washcloths at the moment for a swap. I only need one, but I figure if I make a few I can send the best one off and we can use the rejects!! I keep having to stretch out my right forearm though - who knew crochet could be so hard on my poor, underused muscles ;-)

I am sooo looking forward to going to the show (I'm not a rides person either, but the food hall is very exciting). I've never been to the Melbourne show before, so I can't wait to discover all the different fun bits :-)

I think we should be able to put in our order for the weather - not-too-hot-but-balmy-days-followed-by-rain-at-night sounds perfect to me too ;-)
