The only thing that I have against using Twitter for the same thing I used to use Digg for is that my stream moves a lot faster in Twitter and I do miss a lot. I use Tweetdeck to group a lot but some stuff still gets missed. But Digg is one of those sites that just a year ago I couldn't imagine life without and now I never check it.

That was the unexpected part of this experiment. I use SocialThing to read through my Twitter updates and since it doesn't use pages, it's a bit easier. I usually scroll through all the new posts and look for keywords.

I believe it still works for the time being but only in the old Facebook. If you are using the new version, you have to switch over to using registed template bundles like I wrote about above. Try your app out on the old version of Facebook and I'd be curious if it did work there. Let me know.

You should check here http://wiki.developers.face... for Facebook's own API. It's written in PHP but there are others that other people have written for a lot of other languages.

That won't work using the limit term. Might in MySQL but I was using this in SQL Server. You can use this:

select TOP (1) * from tablex order by RAND()

But the random row it pulls is always the same. That's why in the end, I had to reset the Random seed.

I agree with post of your posts. I have decided on the iTouch and am just waiting to get some funds in and it will be in my dirty, grubby hands soon.

Hi Phil,

I actually had not tried Last.fm until you mentioned it to me and I downloaded it yesterday. I feel like Pandora plays a better selection of music that I like but Last.fm has a much bigger user base and so once I listen for longer and get my tastes the way I like it, it might be good. I do like Last.fm's downloadable player. That is really cool. I do find it hard to really customize a station like I can with Pandora. Maybe I'm not used to it enough but I'll try it again today.

@Fletch - I'm glad to hear that you like it. I've read too many times that had it come out first, more people would like it.

@matt - I agree with you about splitting the phone and media player. Another good argument for the iTouch.

Shikhar - I am still working on getting it set up correctly. I have heard that is has to do with the fact that I set Ubuntu up on my secondary hard disk and it really likes the first one. I have tried to remove it but being very hesitant because I can't find it at all on my Windows Explorer.

As for the site being slow, I apologize for that. I noticed it like that at my work but thought it was my work connection but apparently not. I'll try to play around with some things and hopefully you won't have that issue again.

What was your comment on the iTouch versus the iPhone? I'm curious to hear it.

I upgraded to WP 2.3 and forgot that I had renamed the theme I was using to default because it always resets itself. Should be fixed now.

Hey Daniel - It was really easy. But my problem I believe was that I installed it onto my 2nd hard disk rather than the first disk. I tried un-installing it last night and couldn't. I also tried to resize my C partition on my first disk as it takes the entire disk but somehow that didn't work either. I won't be able to work on it tonight (MUSE concert :) ) but I will hopefully get it working normally soon.
