The use of technology has always piqued my interest. In these pieces it is blatently apparent that there is a technological "mind" creating the line. Fortunately, the essental human connection is not completely lost. I am happy to see that Mr. Lu has chosen some very apt captions for his otherwise ambiguous designs.

Re: • • - Untitled (Asteroid), 2007 watercolor on paper (via...

Once upon a time there was an asteroid named Untitled...

Re: • • - when the pretty egg yolk jumped ship (via...

I agree. And, isn't that the way life works? We constantly attemp to understand, qualify, and rationalize the complexity all around us through measurement, simplification, and naming. But, despite all our attempts, we are unable to unravel the mystery of "Why?" We are forced to accept it. That's life! and it is beautiful.

Re: • • - Legos: Artist Repairs Walls In Italy With Lego...

This is my new deasktop wallpaper!

Re: • • - Legos: Artist Repairs Walls In Italy With Lego...

Yeah! It really adds to the vapor trails without planes. It's interesting that the trails appear to dissipate in all directions. It's almost as if all the planes could have been in the shot at once. Just think...six planes all heading tward each other over a big bright yellow sun.
Bummer we missed that shot too.

Re: • • - playing “mystery dinner” game tonight … yeah i...

I had B.L.T.s. Much the same way I can recall some specific details from my dreams but feel constantly urged to see the bigger picture.

Re: • • - happy summer solstice - here are some sounds to...

Watching the sun to set, having a beer, groovin' to the mix, and thinking, "Bring on the Summer!"

Re: • • - playing “mystery dinner” game tonight … yeah i...

Ha! That suggests very memorable and less memorable experiences. The extensive use of white space in turn reveals an extensive lack of memory.

The array also suggests that as things that hapen move away from us (or us away from them) their memory grows smaller/fewer in number. But that by holding on to one very memorable experience we can also recolect other smaller memories.

Re: • • - Memory Fragments (Missouri), 2006 Installation for...

Like I said, in the PC defragment feature, the white space is unused/blank. That space is both not being used for anything, but could be.

It is definately optimistic to see it for it's possibility.

Notice the unbounded natue of the space, there is no stopping it. And I dare say no need to. It's only the squares that are added that bound the space. Extapolate that to the insane point of filling the while space with squares and you have a picture of someone living in the past. The squares need to disapear in order to allow for more possible squares.

Re: • • - Skitch.com > diblet >...

Yup, Safari 3.1.1 shows it well.
