I just thought the image of a person standing on their bike like that sailing through rush hour would be hilarious ... It pisses drivers off enough that you can beat them home while the sit in bumper to bumper - yet pulling some backwards wheelies would really put it over the top

oh your ideas are great -- right now though im trying to think of ways to
have forms 'grow' themselves through repetition ... like growth rings on
trees or cells/atoms lining/linking up ... then eventually, because im
human, defects/variations start to show up and move through the forms
creating unique gestures or fluxuations
its a little more illustrative/removed/conceptual then i am used to in the
process of my drawings, but that is what i am looking for as a counter
balance to observation or lived experience

im doing a lot of drawings where i set up "rules" in advance ... mainly parallel lines -- thought the rules of a net (squares) would be an answer here -- they make such complex forms from a simple rule ... i find them beautiful

you hit most of them ;)

research for my work ... i find maps/cartography to be compelling ways
of organizing the complex information of the world onto a 2
dimensional surface, much like what painting can do in a poetic sense
... also gives a graphical/line answer of how to play off of the
atmospheric aspects of my paintings ... all at the same time
suggesting or referencing topography, the slowly carved and ever
shifting - again analagous to my concerns

and many are just plain beautiful too

reminds me of how great the bike paths are in minneapolis - i wish i could ride with you guys

*make sure to check out the greenway - if you plan it right, cheapo could be right along your route basically, their vinyl selection is nice nice (another reason i miss minneapolis, no good record shops out here)

that is a good place to ride with the fam - i used to ride around there quite a bit when i lived in minneapolis ... little further north too across the ped/bike only stonearch bridge - also did some work along the river there. if you lock up in the park you can go down stairs there to get to some islands on foot.

chain ring took a bite into your head mark - usually people only end up with those on their hands/arms while doing maintenance and slipping. at least it doesn't look infected ;)

i had to show kara via my bike how much that would suck to have the chain ring fall on one's head - glad to see your okay and continued your ride!

haha, nice ... i had to chuckle

remember mark, the barrier could function in more ways then just like a crossing, but also straight on this thing, stopping you from getting to the wall - or more specifically violating the traditional space that a viewer occupies when veiwing a painting
