Good morning all, thanks for the warm welcome last Thursday -- I will do my best to drop by on occasion, particularly when I see significant setups or turning points in the hopes it will be of help or interest to some. That was my motivation behind my fly-by last week, and for some alerts posted via Twitter. We have indeed seen a very nice move up off important support areas, both in the major indices and in AAPL, whose chart I posted here on my recent visit as well. Today we can see a lovely double bottom taking shape in the much-watched stock, which should resolve considerably higher. As of now, I suspect that the common mistake among traders will be to be overly bearish as the markets lift out of a minor correction and head into the end of the year. As always, I am continually re-evaluating and calibrating in accordance to market and stock behavior. Trade well, and if interested I may have updates on Twitter (@TheMarketMuse).

I have been posting occasional updates on Twitter (@TheMarketMuse) for anyone interested. Hope all are doing well, and thanks so much for flooding my inbox with emails -- I was overwhelmed (as was my inbox!) and truly touched. I think that 2/3 of the volume came from folks that had never or rarely posted, and it was really nice to know you're out there and were following from afar. Trade well.

Hi, BB. I'm glad that my market perspective has been helpful to you. As for rooting for the Tar Heels ...... you are evidently unaware of perhaps the most infamous rivalry in all of college basketball. Suffice it to say that I will root for the Tarheels when hell freezes over. I do, however, appreciate the condolences on what was a heartbreaking loss for my Blue Devils. It happens. ; )

Well, that's a wrap, and quite a grind all day. Have I mentioned that I hate OPEX? There's really not too much that can be concluded from OPEX action, and in my experience, it's a mistake to try. Lots of pinning going on, as per usual, corrective action in some areas, and potentially meaningful advances in others, particularly the energy complex. Natural gas, as mentioned earlier, may be carving out a bottom, and while I thought it was doing so a month or so ago, that effort turned out to be little more than a short-lived bounce. The dollar continues to look depressed, precious metals are in a holding pattern, and market leaders are behaving very well. Even so, it's not the easiest market to trade, with a good deal of volatility in individual names; but the reigning strategy for success in this market has been and still is: buy the dips. And, as I am seeing things at this point in time, that will very likely be the strategy for the rest of the year.

The McClellans have plenty of room to extend higher before a pull-back of some degree, but we'll need to see if the Russell can break through the February highs and help to support continued upside near-term. As mentioned a little earlier, my initial upside target has more or less been achieved, but that wasn't intended as a call for a top, just a technical pattern resolution area that I expected to be fulfilled.

I am going to do my very best to get a weekend post up (I know, I know), because I have a few things I need to address, as well as a couple of charts to share. I hope everyone has a great weekend planned, perhaps with a little basketball or other escape in the mix.

I think we go way higher longer-term. 2012 is setting up to zoom significantly higher, but that doesn't mean there won't be some rough shake-outs along the way. Yes, my initial target was almost tagged, and perhaps close enough to have been fulfilled. More of a technical level I projected would be fulfilled next, not necessarily a prelude to a correction.

Oil charts very bullish. NFLX nearing downtrend line. AMZN also firming nicely, might be in play next week.

Energy stocks looking acting well include: CLR, APC, APA, EOG, PETD, NOV, RIG, etc. Many more. UCO a good way to play these, or ERX.

Positive day, but lots of range-bound OPEX stuff. Many folks are undoubtedly winding down for the weekend, not to mention March Madness beckoning to basketball fans. I am here, but multi-tasking (and ok, yes, a little game monitoring) and will post again near the close. Energy looks to be taking the baton, and AGQ is still behaving, although not out of limbo-land quite yet. Otherwise same groups are of interest -- ags, financials, tech. Retailers have been resting the past few sessions, which could be a buying opportunity for those under-exposed in the group. I'll be doing a little light profit-taking before the close. Will catch up with you again in a bit.

Good morning, All. Wild open, and, of course, it is OPEX, my personal fav. Some of the solars look OK for short-term plays here -- I bought some YGE, but am not enthralled with the group just yet. For those wanting to try, the key to playing these guys is to get in, get out. When they reverse, they reverse hard, as is true of most of the more speculative stocks. PMs are holding steady, and energy in general is ticking higher today. I added to financials on morning weakness, and am scalping AAPL from the 580 area as well. Agriculture stocks are particularly strong today, and I have a lot of CF. Good trading to all, I'll resurface when I can.

REGN has been a winner, as has CMG. NFLX is teasing as well, but for me, it needs to clear the descending trendline on significantly more impressive volume. Soon, perhaps. LNKD is another that may have another sprint near-term, but also not quite ready. INVN is nice today, and CMI, which I mentioned at the open, is strong, nice chart and action. FAS excellent. TNA trying but needs to clear the February high.

Sorry to be vague, was rushed. You could try some if the $RUT takes out the February high, but I'd exit as it approaches even more major resistance at all-time highs. Just still lots to get through overhead in the $RUT, and more likely to be choppy until free and clear.

AAPL -- this is one stock that depending on individual trading style, many would do well to buy a small position (a size you can afford to give a very loose stop to) on a dip and hold for the long-haul, as I believe that it will ultimately head much higher. However, for the more active trader, or someone trading larger, a rest of some sort is certainly overdue. As for the fundamentals, in this case they justify the advance and then some. Technicals, however, are very extended and will likely get some relief when the overall market pulls back.

AGQ -- Thanks, I got a little lucky with my exit the other day and re-entry this morning. Didn't like the action before, but was impressed by its steadiness at a support level late yesterday and this morning. Gold is making an effort, but again, I think silver will be the bigger winner this year. We'll see.

Very impressive session so far, with the $SPX pushing past 1400 with ease, the transports posting huge gains, leaders leading, and with PMs even making decent gains. Rails in particular are in full gear, and pull-backs would probably be best if you were left standing at the station. AAPL tagged 600 and has dropped back 8 or 9 points where it has been consolidating/resting in a narrow range. This one certainly would be justified in correcting, yet one has to wonder if the nearly unanimous expectations for 600 to be a near-term top are, perhaps, too unanimous. Time will tell. I certainly wouldn't advocate initiating a new stake in AAPL at these levels, but a well-placed stop may make more sense than automatically selling (or shorting) here. Hope all are doing well, will try to surface again before too long.

VMW, CMI both act very well. Chinas -- NTES working on a breakout, and has the most organized chart of the group. SINA is famous for headfakes, but is on the move this morning, and I am long -- also on SINA, note the IHS pattern on the weekly chart, which heralds much higher prices once it gets going. Still seeing lots of backing and filling in the early-going, to be expected after Tuesday's surge. I have re-entered AGQ with a stop just below the lod. Not risking much here, but want to be on board if it decides to take off.CMG, CF, GS, PCLN, SOXL ... lots to work with here.

Good morning -- just wanted to say that while I gave pattern resolution targets for the PMs yesterday, I am not at all confident that these will play out. So far, they are not really acting like they are set to move much lower, and I will be watching them closely to see if re-entry is warranted sooner than later. As you know, big picture, I see these going considerably higher. Near-term is fuzzier. Back when I can, need to focus on the opening action. Trade well!

As previously announced on December 8, 2011, the co entered into a worldwide collaboration with Janssen Biotech, to develop and commercialize PCI-32765, a novel, oral, first-in-class Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor being developed for the treatment of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Multiple Myeloma, all of which are considered hematological malignancies. Pharmacyclics received from Janssen upfront payments totaling $150 mln on signing the contract.

The technical pattern resolutions are as follows: SLV around 26.70, and GLD around 154. That said, the group is not precise with the technicals at all.
