Voting is the most important thing. As an election official I am quite the advocate for voting early. Hope everyone takes advantage of this right/responsibility.

I live here. It is Republican...Many are under the impression that this is a liberal/ progressive area.

I do understand the uncomfortableness about the political signs issue. I own a biz and I don't put up any signs. But those business owners and private citizens who do post signs have a right to express their point of view. A constitutional right. (4th one) I'll assume they've thought about the pros and cons of doing so and made a decision. I shop there because I like their products, and they are my friends. They disagree with me too, and don't shun my business. Since we are all very sensitive about everything happening in our country and prone to take everything so deeply I think it's too easy to assume the worse about everyone and every stranger we meet.

He's not a "U.S. Health Authority" and he's not saying people should die at 75. Nor is he saying he wants to or will die at 75. He's saying only that after that age he will refuse any life extending medications if/when illness strikes because life as a very sick person isn't the kind of life he wants. He's only suggesting we as a society should discuss the value of extreme life saving measures at any and all costs. This article here has misrepresented much of what he said originally. BIGTHINK could do a better job of just offering the original essay instead of doing a bit of editorializing.

I'm like Heather in TX. Gallbladder removed 27 years ago and I also don't do well with certain kinds of fat. Since then my system has been very sensitive to certain foods, too.

Hi, I know I come to this a little late, but, what if the effort 'to represent our inner lives in external ways' is not vanity but a desire to show inner selves and connect with other's inner selves? And what if it isn't "vain in the sense of useless?" but perhaps impossible to do? Vanity aside. People want to connect, to feel close, to share in safety. That's one of the reasons why my photo doesn't do what I want: express how I feel about myself.

You've listed great questions. I learned that we get older whether we do what we want or not, so what the hell, go all the way. I will never stop dreaming, and I imagine you won't, either.
