Okay, so you can't give up on V yet. I just watched the new episode and I'm reminded of the hints of great story to come. Did you watch the original? This new version is different, but basic storylines still remain the same. The upcoming visitor/human mixed baby was one of the more interesting parts of the original and they're on track to continue that on the new one. AND they just introduced tonight the character that Michael Ironside played in the original. Very promising. It wasn't as dark as we would hope, but it was very smart, which I think should be appreciated. Unfortunately, smart doesn't equal ratings, so who knows the fate.

If nothing else, you have to watch the new episode for the horror movie ending. dun dun dun!

I agree that it will never go away, but the article I read made it seem like schools were trying to crack down on it more. My daughter's school seemed to react the same way. The teachers that are ignoring her are older (and probably jaded to the situation), but her main teacher is young so I have hope she'll take care of it.

I guess as I got older I put my past behind me and never used it to think of how to help my kids if they were ever bullied. I guess I just hoped they would be popular, which sounds very short-sighted on my part now that I think about it.

Lucky for me, Southland plays an hour earlier here than Parenthood and V. So I don't have to choose. The V series premiere was great, but I agree that they need to rejuvenate it. Darker woud be perfect because I just finished watching the original version and it was not dark at all, more soapy.

What you said reminds me of Ocean's Twelve and Thirteen. Eleven was decent but the sequels just seemed like an excuse for a bunch of well-known actors to hang out.

I think we talked about Deb before but I think it's funny that my wife says she can't stand her in the books. I remember you saying you didn't like her at first but ended up changing your mind later. Was that in the books or show? Was any of your impressions with the characters different in the books compared to the show?

Yes, she definitely did. She likes the serial killer stuff and so she couldn't put the books down. Read the first three really quick. She did say that on the third one it had an odd ending but I imagine it's leaving something out to resolve in the final book. She didn't go into detail because she didn't want to ruin it for me.

I tried to compare the first season of the show with what she read and she said they were similar but the ice truck killer was not the same person. I'm glad to hear that because then I won't already know the ending.

No, I'm pretty confident that Kristi would veto those baby outfits. Also, I stopped trying to attract attention to my regular blog anyway. Now that they took out the Tumblarity rating, I feel less inclined to be noticed. I'm just happy (and surprised) I have so many people following it.
