So this should probably be titled 3 Must Make Picks, maybe even 2 or 1. Of course that is only natural, the NCAA tournament is impossible to understand because you never know what will happen. One game I must bring up is the elite 8 match up between Duke and Villanova, I do not think either of these teams will even make it this far. Duke always has a good team, and always chokes. Villanova has not been playing well at all and has to deal with Baylor which will not be easy. Only time will tell but I do not like Duke or Villanova to make it far.

i heard that figgins and lopez could be swapping positions to bring some more speed and range to the middle. have you heard anything about that?

Webster is an absolute bum. He couldnt do anything at Prep and he has done nothing compared to Roy (they were both #6 picks) or anyone else that has been a lottery pick.

I agree with the five you picked but i would rearrange a little bit. Keeping Ichiro at #1, I would put Jones at 2. Like you said, he is the main reason for the success of Matt Hasselbeck and any Seahawk to play a skill position on offense. Then I would put Brockman who is easily the greatest Husky basketball player of all time. Then Allen, then Hasselbeck...

Name225, you are a clown, you don't know what you are talking about. They were choosing the top programs not the best teams in the last 2 or 3 years. The UW overall program is not a joke, the Willingham era was. Yes currently the dawgs arent a top 40 team but they have 2 national championships, and they have the 3rd most Rose Bowl appearances of all time (behind Michigan and USC). In the 90's, and early 2000's UW was both a Pac10 and national power. The fact that they can still fill the seats without winning a game shows the fan support and faith that the fans have in them. They arent currently a top 40 team, but overall they are a top 40 program.

From what I hear, Montana is coming up for a visit at UW this weekend. Hopefully he will be more inclined to come here now that Heaps is going to BYU.

I am kind of disappointed that hes not going to be a husky, but honestly i am not surprised at all. Best of luck to Jake and his career. From what I hear they will be landing some other big recruits too, itll be interesting to see BYU in a few years compared to UW.

No love for the O'dea baseball team and their magical playoff run? Thats BS, no one even expected them to get out of the first round. A team filled with mostly Juniors and Sophmores is pretty impressive.

The Apple Cup grade should be an F, if grades could go any lower it would be even worse. Sure an apple cup at qwest might make some money but this is college. College football is all about the enviroment, students showing school pride, and traveling to places with the most history ever in the sport. If college football were about money then the players would get paid. Moving the game to Qwest takes away home field advantage and the great college football enviroment that many fans, student or not, enjoy. I can understand maybe having the Cup there once if the schools are that damn desperate for money but moving it there every year is complete B.S.

Alot of these things make sense and I am also excited to see how Lopez does this season he was doing great in the WBC and I think he can be big for us. James is right though, after Felix and Bedard our starting pitching is a joke and our young bullpen still needs a lot of work.

The sounders have been a pleasant surprise for seattle sports and its nice to see them start off so strong. I think that some of this will die down though. They have only played home games to sold out crowds, what will happen when they are on the road with crazy crowds that are against them? I guess we will find out but the true test will be how they can play on the road.
Now on to Morrow, I think that its a great decision. The Mariners need help both in starters and a closer and if Morrow is more comfortable there then he should be there. He will be able to throw faster if he is a reliever and he'll be able to throw everyday. Morrow is a huge help to the Mariners either way so I wouldnt consider his choice a D- decision.

Although the regfs were not the best, i think that it came down to our inexperience. Brockman and Dentmon are the only players on the team that have played in the tourney before. The bottom line is if we get into the same situation next year, a smarter Isaiah Thomas makes the right play and we win. There is an exciting future ahead for the dawgs!

I am 100% against this article. Like what seatownjunkie said, the DH award is the Edgar Martinez award. They wouldnt name it that if all he did was sit on his ass and occasionally run the bases. Edgar did his job and he was the heart and soul of the mariners. He never wanted to be traded away or leave us for a rediculous sum of money. He was a true Mariner and he is respected by all of the majors.

I expect the Franklin game to be great but it could end up being a blowout. Shadle Park hasnt played anyone significant so no one knows if they are a contender or not.

I agree with James, drafting crabtree would be a bad decision on our part. I think that we should take an offensive lineman like Eugene Monroe or Andre Smith.

The Patriots played the Cardinals in the regular season which was a completely different situation. Also i was disappointed with the ending, I think that they should have taken more time to review Warner's fumble, in my eyes his arm was in a forward motion.

I'd say basketball is even. If you look at it in terms of championships in the last 7 years, the champion has been from metro. O'dea 3, Beach 3 and Prep 1 so if anything private has the advantage in the recent years.

I think we all expected poor free throw shooting and maybe some bad 3 point games, and pondexter has always been inconsistant. We played normal UW ball except for one part. We had 0 field goals in the last 5 minutes of regulation. If we would have scored 1 time in that five minutes we would have one. Think about that, Romar needs to get the offense to work in pressure situations.
