It's about time! I was driving behind some guy driving & texting down So. River Road in Bedford...he couldn't stay in his lane lane and kept veering into the breakdown lane....okay for oncoming traffic but not so good for bicyclists & pedestrians. And behind me was a nother person chatting away on the cell phone. She was doing better but not by much. Both were distracted by the phone...both are menaces to society. I hope they ban cell phone usage altogether while driving. It will be a safer place.

Wrong time to be floating bonds and spending money that ultimately the tax base would end up paying for. Why not wait until the economy improves? Why float another bond in the hope that the businesses will be there to foot the bill? The mentality that "if we build it they will come" needs to be permanently flushed out of our heads....step back...take a deep breath...

Times are tough...I think there are a lot of things that Derry should take a long hard look at before funding them. Perhaps the whole parade budget should be put into a general fund and ALL parades should be donor financed only.

Good riddance. I have seen many flea markets in my day, but this one is anything but harmless. It is a black eye and a nuisance for the Town of Derry and should be policed regularly and carefully.
